MOST PREP SAT CLASSES
Faith Lutheran is proud to announce a new SAT preparation partnership with the founder and president of MostPrep, Mike Obstgarten. He will be running 6-week prep courses at 6:45 to 9:15pm in room 216 for juniors and seniors specifically for the SAT starting this summer for $600. Students interested in prepping for the ACT should still take this course as the exams are now similar enough that specific ACT courses are not necessary. This full-length course provides ample instruction and review of the concepts most
frequently tested on the SAT, as well as the coaching and implementation of the
test-taking techniques that have been proven to work, all while dispelling common
myths and reassuring students that the task in front of them is not as daunting as it
might seem. To sign up please fill out the form at this link a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the start of the class you are interested in. REGISTER The total $600 for the class will be added to your tuition bill once the class has begun. Contact Mr. Buikema at buikemad@flhsemail.org or Mike directly at mostprep@gmail.comwith questions.

Seniors and your laptops.
ALL senior laptops must turned in and will be wiped clean. If you do not have your laptop checked and wiped, by our IT department, you will not receive your diploma. Even if you had re-imaged recently it will need to be wiped again.
We are thrilled to offer those seniors that have been here at Faith for the full 4 years, the ability to keep your laptop at no charge. We will need to wipe and re-image your laptop (all your information will be gone). We HIGHLY recommend making a backup (using Time Machine, Google Docs, or another backup device) of important data or photos. If you do not know how to do that or need information on options, please come to the library and visit the tech support room before it needs to be turned in. If you bring your external drive with you, we will be glad to show you how to get your data saved and put back on the laptop. Also if you do not want your laptop, consider donating it and leaving it with us. We take your old laptop, refurbish it, and donate it to less fortunate schools, churches, shut-ins, elderly, and other organizations. It is a way to bless others. Just let us know at check-in what you would like to do.
If you have been here 3 years, but less than the full 4 years, you have the option to purchase the laptop for $300. Your laptop will need to be re-imaged.
This offer to purchase your device will not be offered to any other grade or if you have been here less than 3 years it is not an option.
When should you turn the laptop in? After the last final test or as soon as you do not need it, but before graduation!
If I get to keep or if I purchase the laptop, how long before I get it back? The turnaround is 1 - 4 business days. It will be wiped and all data on it will be gone. The laptop cannot be put back on our network once it is wiped. The sooner you bring it in, the better the chance you will miss the last minute rush.
Can I send my younger sibling in to pick up my laptop? No, it needs to be picked up by you. (If you make prior arrangements, we can get authorization for another person to pick up your laptop).
Is there any warranties or guarantees with this laptop? There is not. It is sold as is and we do not offer any warranty or guarantees with your laptop.
AGAIN! ALL senior laptops must be checked in and wiped. If you do not have your laptop checked and re-imaged, by our IT department, you will not receive your diploma.

DEVOTIONAL
Today’s Reading: 1 Peter 2:11-20
Daily Lectionary: Leviticus 10:1-20; Luke 9:37-60
Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. (1 Peter 2:11)
In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. Often I am asked, “How are we to regard the state of Israel and the Jewish people?” Many American Christians believe that there are two covenants that coexist: one for the Gentiles and another for Jews. They believe that many Old Testament promises have not been fulfilled yet, and thus, God has given the Jewish people their land and He will rebuild a physical temple there.
1 Peter exposes how misguided such notions are. Notice what Peter calls these Christians: “sojourners and exiles.” Those are labels traditionally given to Jews living outside the Promised Land. He also calls the Church a “holy nation” and a “royal priesthood” (I Peter 2:9). These are the titles Yahweh gave to Israel at Mt. Sinai.
The true Israel is the people of God. Jesus is the offspring of Abraham (Galatians 3:16), and all who share Abraham’s faith are his offspring (Romans 4). Therefore, the Christian Church is Israel and all of God’s promises are applied to us!
God’s promises are not only applied to us, they are ratcheted up. For example, the Temple of Solomon has been replaced with the assembly of believers. The Lord doesn’t dwell in a building, but He dwells within every congregation and within every believer. There are no more physical barriers between us and God!
Likewise, the Lord gave Israel an abundant land. This land foreshadowed a greater inheritance. You see, our Lord experienced the full weight of sin, death, and evil on the cross, in order to reverse it. Jesus is risen! Someday He will return to reclaim what is His: you and this creation. You will be raised from the dead and made immortal. This creation will be resurrected, too. It will be liberated from decay and renewed (Romans 8:18-23).
So don’t become too obsessed with the modern state of Israel. You are God’s holy people and you are the heirs of His promises. In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.
Guide me, O Thou great Redeemer, Pilgrim through this barren land. I am weak, but Thou art mighty; Hold me with Thy pow’rful hand. Bread of heaven, bread of heaven, Feed me till I want no more; Feed me till I want no more. (Guide Me, O Thou Great Redeemer, LSB 918:1)
