International Student Admission

We are so excited to have international students from all over the world attend Faith Lutheran.  We value the unique perspectives that the students bring and how it enriches our community here at our school and in Las Vegas.  It is our goal to provide our international students with a supportive and holistic learning environment that prepares them for whatever the future holds.  Faith Lutheran offers over 50 different Honors and Advanced Placement courses as well as opportunities in athletics, fine arts, and clubs and organizations.  With the support of our International Student Director, Mr. Alex Klenz, students are guided through the high school experience in a personal and caring way. Faith Lutheran only accepts International Student applications for 6th-11th grade.  Since ESL courses are not offered through our program, students must be proficient in English at the time of admission.  This is determined by reviewing student transcripts, recommendation forms, and English Proficiency test scores (see information below).  Faith Lutheran does not offer on-campus boarding services and does not accept Spring admissions for international students. Application Process

    It is not required, but if possible, it's fun for students to take a campus tour, attend an event, or schedule a shadow ½ day visit.  Many questions can be answered while on tour.  Register through Admissions Events Calendar or call us for 30 minute office visits. 

    For applicants still outside of the US, a video meeting can be arranged. Please email Mrs. Mai Choy at  Video meetings can be held through Zoom, WeChat, Facetime, or Google Meets.

    Create an account with Crusader Connect by clicking here.  A non-refundable $50 application fee is required at submission starting November 1st.  After submitting your application, a Checklist will be available within 48 hours for the remaining requirements of the application process.  Please check your Parent Crusader often.

    Gather documents such as the birth certificate, immunization records, copy of most recent transcript, and test scores (all documents must be translated and notarized if applicable).  Send Faith provided recommendation forms to administrators and teachers from checklist.

    Admissions Testing will be required at the discretion of the Admissions Team. Typically a student with Ds or Fs on the transcript will be required to take an entrance exam. A Math Placement Exam is required and will be emailed to students out of the country.  The prospective family will be notified about required testing once a transcript is submitted.

    One of the following English Proficiency Testing must be submitted:
    1. TOEFL iBT-minimum score of 60 or higher
    2. TOEFL Jr.-minimum score of 750 or higher
    3. iTEP SLATE-minimum score of 3.7 or higher
    4. IELTS-minimum score of 5.5 or higher
    Students should be at the CEFR B1 level or higher. Please contact the admissions office if your student has a lower score.

    Once the application/supporting documents are submitted and testing is complete and graded, the admissions office will contact families to schedule an interview with the prospective student.

    An interview will not be extended unless all required documents and testing has been completed.

    Video interviews are scheduled for out of state/out of country applicants and can be done via Zoom, WeChat, Facetime, or Google Meets.

    An admissions decision will be posted on your Crusader Connect account Decision tab. Accepted applicants will electronically sign and submit the Enrollment Contract ($1000 registration and activity fee).

    Once the Contract and fees have been processed, an I-20 document will be issued to the student for the visa application.  


Other Requirements

Once an admissions decision has been made and the student has been enrolled the following will be required:
  1. Student & Parent/Guardian meeting with a Faith Lutheran representative or host family household visit
  2. Parent/Guardian Agreement Form
  3. Certificate of Bank Balance
  4. Student attendance at mandatory International Student Orientation held in August

Tuition & Fees

$50.00 Application Fee

$1,000 Registration and Activity Fee (due at enrollment, for detailed list of activity fee please see the Financial Policies link).

Tuition 2020-2021 School Year:
  1. Annual: $13,150
  2. International Student Fee: $1000-$3,700 dependent on level of applicant
Payments are due July-April according to the family’s chosen payment plan (annual, semester, or monthly).  Tuition and fees are subject to change each year.

Textbook and Uniform Fees: Families are responsible for purchasing textbooks each year. Book fees vary and are typically dependent on the student’s grade level and individual class selection.  Uniforms can be purchased through The Shield located on campus and The Faith Lutheran Thrift Store.
