WCG Business & Entrepreneurship Academy

The Wealth Consulting Group (WCG) Business & Entrepreneurship Academy is comprised of project-based courses and competitions that give students experience in real-world business situations. Students graduating from the WCG B&E Academy will possess knowledge and skills to excel as character-based leaders in the business world.

Internship Experience

Students will gain real world experience with a 90 hour business internship, hospitality internship, or entrepreneurial experience. Internships may feature marketing, management, accounting, finance, hotel operations, food and beverage, tourist attractions, or entertainment.
Endorsement

Faith Lutheran High School offers B&E endorsements in Business, Entrepreneurship, and Hospitality, offering students a competitive advantage over traditional college freshmen. B&E Academy endorsements suggest to universities that the student is proficient in the skills required to create, develop, and manage a successful business, or lead and serve effectively in the hospitality and tourism industry.
Opportunities

B&E Academy students are required to participate in the regional and state DECA competitions each year as well as complete one approved 90+ hour internship/business experience. Students also have the opportunity to write a business plan for professional review, found their own business, or work under the tutelage of a local business leader gaining an understanding of the industry and competitive environment of that enterprise. A final project will assess a specific business need of the firm followed by formulating and defending proposed solutions.

BUSINESS REQUIRED CLASSES
Business endorsement students must earn an 80% or higher in all required courses:
- Foundations of Business
- Persuasion & Argument
- Choice of Entrepreneurship & Leadership, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Finance & Investing, or AP Micro or Macroeconomics
ENTREPRENEURSHIP REQUIRED CLASSES
Entrepreneurship endorsement students must earn an 80% or higher in all required courses:
- Foundations of Business
- Persuasion & Argument
- Entrepreneurship & Leadership
- Choice of Hospitality & Tourism Management, Finance & Investing, or AP Micro or Macroeconomics
Grade Level and GPA
Invitations will be sent out in January for freshmen and sophomores to apply who meet all of the following:
- Achieve an 80% or higher in the Foundations of Business class for the first semester
- Participate with our DECA Team at State during that same school year
HOSPITALITY REQUIRED CLASSES
Hospitality endorsement students must earn an 80% or higher in all required courses:
