SUPPORTING FAITH

At Faith Lutheran, we’re all about creating a culture of generosity. We don’t ever want a donor to give out of obligation or feeling compelled to do so, but rather we want our parents and Faith friends to give not out of guilt, but out of goodness– the goodness of all that God has freely given you. A good biblical standard is 1 Cor. 9:7: “You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. ‘For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.’”

The Apostle Paul used the analogy of generosity to teach his protégé Timothy how giving enriches both the recipient and the one who gives. Concerning those who have resources that can benefit others, Paul told Timothy, “Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they my experience true life.” (1 Tim. 6:17-19)

There are many ways to give to Faith Lutheran, and they are all listed below. A tax-deductible gift of any amount to Faith is an investment in the lives of students – not just now, but for all eternity. Your generous donation will make a huge difference in shaping lives to be leaders, and shaping hearts to be holy. Think about it. Pray about it. And for whatever gift or pledge you make to Faith, thank you so much!

Blessings,

Crusade for Excellence Annual Fund

Tuition dollars cover basic education costs at Faith Lutheran, but gifts to the Crusade for Excellence– our Annual Fund program – allows us to do two important things: minimize tuition increases and expand Faith’s outstanding learning environment. Among other benefits to Faith, these unrestricted funds help:

• Develop new academic programs and strengthen existing programs
• Provide professional development opportunities for our teachers
• Secure up-to-date technology

When you become a valuable member of the Crusade for Excellence, you contribute to an Annual Fund that builds and helps secure student success! In gratitude for your support, the Advancement Office provides benefits and privileges as described below:

$1,000 and up: Two tickets to our annual donor breakfast in the fall and our annual Donor Appreciation Wine Tasting in the spring.

$2,500 and up: The above, plus a banner in our Amphitheater (at no cost to you) to promote your business or celebrate your family.

$5,000 and up: The above, plus a designated reserved parking spot for family use 24/7 for the entire school year.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES TO GIVE

Build Faith is our ongoing capital improvement campaign to help Faith realize our vision to meet the ever-growing needs of our students and our community both short- and long-term. The vision involves our plans for the next 3-5 years, 6-15 years and 15 years and beyond. When you give to Build Faith, you are enriching your child’s life now while laying the groundwork to build student leaders for future generations.

Short-term needs include building on our 10-acre site south of the campus (across from Homestretch), closing Homestretch and integrating it into our campus blueprint (which would include additional parking), and adding a new Hospitality and Tourism Academy. Long-term needs include a new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) building, a new middle school, and an aquatics (or possibly ice hockey) center.

Faith Lutheran is the largest non-public school in Nevada and one of the largest middle and high schools in America with nearly 2,000 students. Build Faith not only allows us to build our campus, but also to build the spiritual faith of everyone – students, faculty and parents – in the Faith Family.

It’s a fact that 1 in 6 of our students each year requires some amount of financial assistance (just under $1 million was awarded last year) to be able to afford the cost of private Christian education or stay enrolled at Faith. It may involve loss of a job or a spouse, or health issues. Whatever the case, our Immediate Tuition Assistance Fund provides parents and Faith friends in need with partial tuition funding. Your donation to the Immediate Tuition Assistance Fund will allow any family seeking a faith-based education for their children to have that opportunity at Faith.
Scholarship Endowment Fund Established in 2001, Faith Lutheran's Scholarship Endowment Fund has grown to over $1,800,000 through proceeds from the annual Scholarship Endowment Gala and donations from generous individuals.  The school utilizes earned interest from the endowment fund to supplement the Tuition Assistance Program.    Your donation to the Scholarship Endowment Fund helps to further the fund and provide assurance that any family who desires life-shaping Christian education for their children will have that opportunity at Faith Lutheran Middle School & High School.
The Mark 10:14 Programgives students with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to learn “real world” and academic skills in a normal classroom environment while preparing them to reach their highest potential. Student mentors provide daily one-on-one oversight of each Mark 10:14 student to ensure success. Your gift to the Mark 10:14 Programwill make a huge difference for these amazing students!

Parents of Mark 10:14 students pay 1.5 timesthe normal Faith Lutheran tuition cost because of the high adult to student ratio – and even at that rate, costs of the program are not covered. Your donation to the Mark 10:14 Scholarship Fundprovides financial assistance to the families of our Mark 10:14 students who struggle with the necessary additional expenses, and helps ensure continuation of this unique program.

With more than two-thirds of all Faith Lutheran students participating each year in middle and high school athletic programs on the Division 4A level – the state’s highest and most competitive – the need for quality equipment and the best facilities is ever-present. Your gift to Athleticsallows our student-athletes to train and compete at a peak level.

Faith Lutheran boasts an award-winning Fine Arts Conservatory. From theatrical and musical to visual and dance, our conservatory students excel. Your donation to the Fine Arts Conservatorywill be used to help develop skills and talents in students that will last a lifetime.

Faith Lutheran students learn in state-of-the-art classrooms and science labs. Having the best technology available is at the core of societal success, and Faith perpetuates this standard by providing Apple laptops to our high school students and iPads to our middle school students as part of their learning experience. Your gift to Technologywill keep our students “ahead of the curve” with the latest and best technology.

The Williams Research Greenhouseat Faith Lutheran serves not only the needs of our students but also the needs of hungry people throughout Las Vegas. With two side-by-side growth rooms and environmental controls (including hydroponics and aquaponics) that allow plants to thrive throughout the year, this state-of-the-art greenhouse offers vast research opportunities to our STEM students and at the same time provides fresh produce to Three Square Food Bank. In addition, our Mark 10:14 students (alongside their mentors) learn the joy of growing things and at the same time gain valuable work training. All flower and plant sales also benefit the Mark 10:14 Program. When you donate to the Williams Research Greenhouse, you help Faith and our community!

Grad Nite is held every year on the night of Faith Lutheran’s senior graduation ceremony. All seniors are invited and strongly encouraged to attend this fun, safe, all-night party put on by the Faith Lutheran Grad Nite team. With statistics showing that seniors celebrating on the evening of their graduation can end up in dangerous situations, Grad Niteprovides students with a safe, sober, supervised and fun place to celebrate with their friends. Students are taken to the Durango YMCA by bus immediately following their graduation ceremony and treated to an outdoor and indoor party full of water games, indoor games, dancing, food and music. Your gift to Grad Nite helps our team put on a top-notch alcohol-free graduation event each year (with additional funds coming from our Crusader Christmas Boutique in December).
