MOST PREP SAT CLASSES
Faith Lutheran is proud to announce a new SAT preparation partnership with the founder and president of MostPrep, Mike Obstgarten. He will be running 6-week prep courses at 6:45 to 9:15pm in room 216 for juniors and seniors specifically for the SAT starting this summer for $600. Students interested in prepping for the ACT should still take this course as the exams are now similar enough that specific ACT courses are not necessary. This full-length course provides ample instruction and review of the concepts most
frequently tested on the SAT, as well as the coaching and implementation of the
test-taking techniques that have been proven to work, all while dispelling common
myths and reassuring students that the task in front of them is not as daunting as it
might seem. To sign up please fill out the form at this link a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the start of the class you are interested in. REGISTER The total $600 for the class will be added to your tuition bill once the class has begun. Contact Mr. Buikema at buikemad@flhsemail.org or Mike directly at mostprep@gmail.comwith questions.

At Faith Lutheran High School, we have been blessed to provide devices for students to use while at Faith and to offer them, upon graduation, to students that have been here for the full 4 years. We also allowed seniors who have been here for less than 4 years to purchase the school’s laptop. This will be changing this year.
This year Apple has changed the MacBook Air line up and because of these changes we  will need to modify expectations on the way we sell MacBook Air to seniors.
In the past, seniors could purchase their laptops if they had been at faith less than 4 years. Students that have been with Faith the full four years were given the school’s laptop at no cost. This has been changed.
We need to make sure we can support all the future classes of students and the changes we will make to sell laptops will be that we will not sell laptops to students that have been here less than 3 years. If you have been here 3 years or more and less than the full 4 years, the laptop can be purchased for $300 (unless that device is a newer model than what was originally assigned which may be more). Laptops, if found damaged, will incur fees to repair.
We also must state that future offerings to students that are here less than the full 4 years is not a guarantee. We may have to restrict this more in the future.
If you are not a senior completing your full four years and are not returning to Faith, we will not sell the school’s laptop to you.

DEVOTIONAL
And the twelve were with him, and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s household manager, and Susanna, and many others, who provided for them out of their means (Luke 8:2-3)
In the Name + of Jesus. It isn’t often that women get the spotlight in the Bible. But where the men often bumble along, fail to get what Jesus is saying, and suffer from a case of foot-in-mouth disease (we’re looking at you, Peter!), the women are depicted as steadfast, faithful, caring, and nurturing of Jesus and His mission.
Now this doesn’t mean that the women were perfect. Remember that Martha was corrected for working when she should have been listening like her sister. Yet Martha is also the one who confessed the resurrection when her brother Lazarus died. And just before this chapter of Luke (in yesterday’s daily lectionary) there is a certain “woman of the city, who was a sinner,” who loved much because she had been forgiven much.
This is simply to say that the women who followed Jesus were real flesh-and-blood humans like the men who followed Him. They were chosen not because they had some worth or nobility about them, but purely by grace.
In addition to supporting Jesus and the rest of the disciples out of their means, some of these women also played an important role in the Christian faith. They were the first witnesses of the resurrection. This is an important and often overlooked detail. If the followers of Jesus wanted to invent a story of His resurrection, they would not have chosen women to be the first witnesses. Their story would have had no credibility, because the testimony of women was not considered as reliable as that of men at that time,
More important than the women being real flesh-and-blood human beings, their role in the story is to show us that they and we worship a real flesh-and-blood, risen Lord Jesus Christ. Thanks be to God for the service of faithful women! In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.
That Easter morn, at break of day, The faithful women went their way To seek the tomb where Jesus lay. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia! An angel clad in white they see, Who sits and speaks unto the three, “Your Lord will go to Galilee.” Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia! (O Sons and Daughters of the King, LSB 470:2-3)
