COMMUNITY CRUSADER SERVICE HOURS OPPORTUNITY:
Service Hours Opportunity- Video JV Boys Lacrosse Games
JV boys lacrosse needs help videotaping their games. Their first game is this Wednesday, February 27th at 5:00 pm at the Crossings Park in Summerlin. Students interested in earning service hours for doing this please contact Nikki Driscoll at nikki.driscoll@flhsemail.org. (2/28)

At Faith Lutheran High School, we have been blessed to provide devices for students to use while at Faith and to offer them, upon graduation, to students that have been here for the full 4 years. We also allowed seniors who have been here for less than 4 years to purchase the school’s laptop. This will be changing this year.
This year Apple has changed the MacBook Air line up and because of these changes wewill need to modify expectations on the way we sell MacBook Air to seniors.
In the past, seniors could purchase their laptops if they had been at faith less than 4 years. Students that have been with Faith the full four years were given the school’s laptop at no cost. This has been changed.
We need to make sure we can support all the future classes of students and the changes we will make to sell laptops will be that we will not sell laptops to students that have been here less than 3 years. If you have been here 3 years or more and less than the full 4 years, the laptop can be purchased for $300 (unless that device is a newer model than what was originally assigned which may be more). Laptops, if found damaged, will incur fees to repair.
We also must state that future offerings to students that are here less than the full 4 years is not a guarantee. We may have to restrict this more in the future.
If you are not a senior completing your full four years and are not returning to Faith, we will not sell the school’s laptop to you.

Services include specialized tutoring, one on one sessions between yourself and a fellow student, Student mediation, and much more. The last two ski/snowboard trip deadlines are quickly approaching! We are intending to go to BrianHead! If you want to go on March 16, please make sure your Crusader Connect documents are submitted no later than Thursday, February 28. If you want to go on March 23, please make sure your Crusader Connect documents are submitted by Thursday, March 21. No students will be added to the trips after these deadlines, so make sure you sign up early! If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Naugle in room 308 prior to the deadlines. (2/28)
COMMUNITY CRUSADER SERVICE HOURS OPPORTUNITY:
Love Never Fails is looking for high school student volunteers. Volunteer opportunities include set-up, greeting guests, attending tables, serving food, explaining special events, and cleaning up. This event will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019.
Volunteers would be needed to set-up tables from 7:00-8:00 pm on Friday, March 15, 2019. For the event on March 16th, volunteers are needed from 1:00-3:00 pm (event preparation), 5:00-9:00 pm (event service), and from 7:30-10:00 pm (event clean-up).

Online Health Sign-up for High School Students
If you are in need of completing your high school health credit, the Spring 2 session of online Health begins March 25. If you would like to be enrolled in this class, you must fill out the form at the link below by Friday March 15. You will be charged an extra $350 on your tuition bill for this class unless you have a study hall, late arrival or early dismissal in your 2018-2019 class schedule. If you took Health in 8th grade here at Faith or have taken Health at Las Vegas Day School, Adelson, Cornerstone, Alexander Dawson, Lake Mead Christian Academy or The Meadows in 7th or 8th grade, your high school Health requirement is already complete and you do not need this class. COMMUNITY CRUSADERS SERVICE HOURS OPPORTUNITY:
The Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health is looking for 15 – 20 student volunteers to help out with setting up for their annual Power of Love Gala on March 13 at MGM Grand Garden Arena. If you have not ordered your cap and gown for graduation you can pick up a form from Mr. Bowline's office or from the IT office.
Make sure you have the gown ordered before the end of February.
SAT & ACT Class
In cooperation with Princeton Review, Faith Lutheran is offering Princeton Review's Ultimate combined ACT & SAT course on campus, which includes 25 hours of instruction and 4 full-length diagnostic practice exams on Saturday mornings at 9:00. This course is valued at $1099, but Faith students can take it for only $599. The next available course starts with a practice test on January 26 and will run mostly Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, concluding just before the March SAT and April ACT. The following class will begin with a practice test on April 6 and will run mostly Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 PM, concluding just before the June SAT and June ACT. Exact dates for the classes are listed below. To sign up please fill out the form at this link by by March 22 for the Spring class. DEVOTIONAL
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. God is for you. He’s got nothing against you, in Jesus. The Father’s feeling toward you is one of love, mercy, and kindness. Your heavenly Father is happy with you. He is gracious toward you. In Christ, He has blessed you with so many wonderful gifts, not just of soul, but also body. So it was with Paul. God had blessed Paul with seeing a vision of the heavenly places. He had blessed Him with a fruitful ministry as a pastor and Apostle. Yet in all these blessings there was a danger for Paul: pride.
You see, Paul was not some super Christian with great faith. Paul could get puffed up in these great blessings: “I’ve seen heaven. I’ve done so much awesome stuff.” We may want to do the same thing: look to what we have and not think of Him who gave it to us. So for Paul, the Lord afflicted Him with a “thorn in the flesh,” and said to him: “My grace is sufficient for you.” His grace and favor was enough for Paul. The Lord perfects His strength in weakness.
What about you? The Lord may afflict you with His Law in many ways. Most assuredly He’s given you a pastor who preaches the law that condemns your sin and unbelief for what they truly are: sin and unbelief. This pastor is also sent by Christ to give you another word: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” This grace is given to you in font, Word, Absolution, and Supper. Such weak things truly give the strength, and power of God, that is, they give you the forgiveness of sins won by Jesus on the cross where the strength of God was really shown in the weakness and death of the eternal Son, Jesus.
The Lord sends His grace and favor to you. He guards and keeps you forever. Things might be rough, and His Law fierce, but His grace is sufficient both now and forever. In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.
