Crusaders Control Mustangs, Earn 1st RRAC Win of 2019

After a close first quarter the Crusaders took control in the middle frames and posted a 34-6 win over The Meadows on Monday, in a game played in the Aux Gym. With the win th team improves to 5-1 overall and 1-1 in Red Rock Athletic Conference play.

Marin got the start at PG in this one after having an excellent game vs Founders Academy, and she kept it going in this one. She ran the offense very well, and added a first quarter basket for herself, helping the Crusaders take a 5-2 lead at the break.

The second and third stanzas were the best 12 minutes  of basketball this bunch has played this season on both sides of the ball, as they outscored the Mustangs 27-0, leading 18-2 at half and 32-2 after three quarters. Abby and Evie each had eight points while Shay had three, Marin added another hoop, and Karly got back into the scoring column withi a basket of her own.   Isabella M scored in the second quarter after a sweet feed from a teammate resulted in a layup.

Meadows continued to battle in the final frame, winning it 4-2. The Crusader highlight was a nice jumper from Kayleigh, who was rewarded for her hard work on both ends of the floor.  The team is looking forward to tommorow's Unified Team game contest, as they get to team up with the B Team to take on New Horizons Academy.

Go Faith!
