Time to get ready for the next MS Musical!!
There will be a signup outside of my room... portable 58 -- not as cool as Moodle, but crusader connect doesn't work as well. Stop by and sign up-- if you don't we will have a wait line for people that just walk up but this way you can schedule something and not be waiting forever.
Please be advised that Dance Team is the only team that works with us in our rehearsal schedule.  If you are in basketball or cheer, sorry -- we cannot cast you -- you have already made that team.  Track and spring sports don't affect us too much -- but we do get first dibs on your time... ask Mr. Elliott if you need more clarification on this.
PLEASE - make sure your audition form is filled out before you come to the audition. It helps move things along. Mr. Elliott will send them to you if you sign up or if you ask for it.

DEVOTIONAL
The new wine fails, the vine languishes, All the merry-hearted sigh. (Isaiah 24:7)
In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. Take that, Christmas partiers, shoppers and carolers! Take that, Christmas joy! The Lord really lets loose by the prophet Isaiah. He’s gonna lay the smackdown on this world and all the people who love to live as if He doesn’t exist. That’s a happy thought at a time when the world is supposed to be celebrating “comfort and joy”!
And the Lord does come with a vengeance, on Good Friday. He lets loose with all He’s got upon His own Son—so much so that the sun’s light is snuffed out. The earth itself shatters. God Himself dies. Nothing merry or light-hearted there. There the one who turned water into wine languishes under the weight of the Law’s curse. There the one who is the true Vine is dried up and withered. There the one who brought many a smile is grimacing in pain. Then dead. Then buried.
Then alive. Risen. The judgment of God has passed. Sinners have been saved. Curse upon mankind has been lifted by Jesus, whose name means “Yahweh saves.” Light has shined in the darkness.
It always seems like there’s a tension this time of year between those who like to party with reckless abandon and those who want to keep things calm and reverent as we wait to celebrate Christmas. But how can we not have some joy even now? How can we not do some celebrating when the Lord has saved us?
Now, we go to the Lord’s house, to church, to rejoice in the wine given with His blood, the life given because we are grafted into Jesus, the Vine. Now we can’t help but be merry-hearted—even in Advent—because Jesus has come to save us, forgive our sins, and give us everlasting life.
The Old Testament people of God suffered when they turned away from Him. But the Lord always went after them—always brought them back. And having come in the flesh, He has given Himself for the life of the whole world. Sinners rejoice! Let the sad smile! Jesus has come and turned everything around—turned us back to Him and saved us. In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.
Yet nights will bring their sadness And rob our hearts of peace, And sin in all its madness Around us may increase. But now one Star is beaming Whose rays have pierced the night: God comes for our redeeming From sins oppressive might. (The Night Will Soon Be Ending, LSB 337:4)
