Crusaders Ground Eagles in a Fun Contest For All!

The Crusaders welcomed New Horizons to the Student Center & played a great game, posting a 46-18 victory.

Injury and illness caused a shakeup in the starting lineup and the rotations today, but the Crusaders stepped up and played well, posting a solid win over the Eagles. Kudos to Skylar Toney, who stepped into the starting lineup for the first time in her Faith career and played quite well, grabbing several rebounds and adding a basket in the first quarter, helping the Crusaders to a 12-2 lead after the first six minutes. Dena had a NICE dive to the basket that led two a bucket, and Danielle made a jumper as well.

Faith scored 14 in the second quarter while allowing only two for a second consecutive stanza. Addison had a basket and several rebounds in the second quarter while also getting a couple of assists that helped Neveah tally eight points in the second quarter, with those coming on a three, two regulation buckets, and a free throw. Skylar had another putpack, and Annika made a jumper off an Ariana assist to account for the 26-4 halftime score.

We went with a new defense in the third quarter, and aside from a couple of hiccups, did it well. It was a learning experience for sure. Annika was the leading scorer in this stanza, with four points, and Mia W got on the board as well, with a nice driving layup. Faith led 30-8 after three quarters.

The fourth quarter was a lot of fun, as Ariana got the first basket of her Faith career, and two NHA players drew cheers from the entire crowd after scoring baskets. Danielle and Mia led the way on the scoreboard for Faith, as each had four points, with Mia draining a jumper in the final couple of minutes that arced high over her defender's hands.

We almost got Sabrina into the scorebook, but we will get her a basket soon, and she is getting better and better every time she gets a chance to play from her statistician/manager/player role. She is a great asset to the team. Special shoutout to Addison, who ended up with four points, SIX rebounds, four steals and three assists - making an impact in every way possible.

Faith has the next couple days off before getting back to work next week with a practice and three games...we are looking forward to it!

Go Crusaders!
