MostPrep's Summer/Fall 2025 SAT Classes

FLHS is pleased to announce that MostPrep will be running courses at FLHS in preparation for the summer/fall SAT dates. You may use this LINK to sign up for a class. There is a limit of 25 students per session, so registrations will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact MostPrep by e-mail (mostprep@gmail.com) or phone (702-896-1307 -- this is a landline, so please don't send a text!) if you have any questions. Here is a list of course offerings; no student may register for more than 1 course, and these courses are only open to current sophomores and juniors. FLHS will bill students' accounts for these courses after they begin. Dates are subject to change if any of the dates of test administration change; parents and students are strongly encouraged to watch College Board's website and secure a seat for an SAT as soon as registration opens for those tests.

July 16 - August 22: This 6-week course ($750) aims to fully cover the most important content for the entire SAT, all of which carries over to the ACT. Two proctored practice tests are included. This course will meet on Wednesday nights (7-9:30pm) and Friday afternoons (4-5:30pm). Practice tests will run from 8am - 10:30am on the final two Saturdays before the August 23 SAT. Registration priority will be given to rising seniors.

July 27 - October 16: This 8-week course ($800) aims to fully cover the most important content for the entire ACT, including the harder math on the ACT and the ACT Science section. Two proctored practice tests are included. This course will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7-9pm; the only exception will be that it will meet on Wednesday (August 27) instead of Tuesday that week to avoid conflicting with a back-to-school night event at FLHS. Additionally, this course will only meet once (on Thursdays) in the first two weeks of October. Practice tests will be proctored from 8-11:30am on two of the final three Saturdays before the October 18 ACT. Registration priority will be given to rising seniors.
September 10 - October 7: This 5-week course ($500) is designed for accelerated juniors who may not need as much review of content and would benefit from additional practice leading up to the PSAT in October, which is the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Competition. Two proctored practice tests are included. We will meet from 6:30-9:30pm on the first three Wednesday evenings, and then 6:30-9:30pm on the final two Tuesdays, the second of which is the night before the PSAT. Practice tests for both sessions will run from 8am-10:30am on the final two Saturdays of the course. Registration is limited to the first 25 rising juniors who have already completed Algebra 2 AND scored 1200 or better on their PSAT in 10th grade.

October 1 - November 7: This 6-week course ($750) aims to fully cover the most important content for the entire SAT and ends immediately prior to the November SAT. Two proctored practice tests are included. This course will meet on Wednesday nights (7-9:30pm) and Friday afternoons (4-5:30pm) with one exception: the fifth week of the course will meet on Thursday afternoon (10/30) instead of Nevada Day. Practice tests will run from 8am - 10:30am on the final two Saturdays before the November 8 SAT. Registration priority will be given to rising seniors, though accelerated juniors might want to consider enrolling in this course and taking the November SAT with the aim of being done with the SAT this fall. DEVOTIONS
Today’s Reading: Mark 16:14-20
Daily Lectionary: Exodus 18:5-27Hebrews 12:1-24
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:16)
In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.
The end of Mark gives us language that is reminiscent of Matthew’s ending: the admonition to proclaim the Gospel and baptize the nations. The sacrament of Baptism is laid before Mark’s readers as a life-giving Gift from God. Luther even uses the end of Mark as part of his explanation in the Small Catechism on Baptism, the second part, regarding the benefits of Baptism. Your Baptism saves you.
Baptism is no small, insignificant part of our lives. It is not a once-and-done “the box is checked, life is good, let’s not talk about it until confirmation when we can start preparing for the real sacrament, Holy Communion.” Baptism gives to us all the blessings and benefits that Christ has done for us. It is a Means Of Grace. It is a vessel that God uses to bring us the forgiveness of sins, life everlasting, faith, and the Holy Spirit.
Our world cannot comprehend how God works through the simplest things to do miraculous work. Water and His word together bring us these benefits and blessings. It is not our faith that makes Baptism valuable but rather faith that is given to us in Baptism. It is God’s work through Baptism that His robe of righteousness is placed over us. The world sees only water. The world hears just simple words. It is these two components together that give us Baptism.
We are Baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. We carry the name of the triune God upon us. His cross is placed both upon our forehead and upon our hearts to mark us as one redeemed by Christ the crucified. His name, His death, and His resurrection are our identity in Baptism. We are no longer left out in the world, lost and condemned. Sin does not prevail. Satan no longer can condemn us. We are baptized into Christ. It is our condition that we live in each day. We boldly say, “I am baptized!”
In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.
In a wat’ry grave are buried All our sins that Jesus carried; Christ, the Ark of Life, has ferried Us across death’s raging flood. (LSB 597:2)
-Rev. Timothy Davis, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Athens, GA.
Audio Reflections Speaker: Pastor Jonathan Lackey is the pastor at Grace Lutheran Church, Vine Grove, KY.
Andrew R. Jones identifies ten lies Satan uses in attempts to dismantle God’s people and His kingdom. Find encouragement in God’s Word of Truth and remember the final victory we have in our Savior, Jesus Christ.
