Crusaders Play Strong - Earn Second Place in RRAC

Meadows had gone through the regular season undfeated and, truly, unchallenged, but that came to an end in this battle vs the Crusaders.  Faith, which was not at full strength for the first meeting, came out ready to go and put a big time scare into the eventual champs, before falling 1-4. Congrats to The Meadows on an excellent season, but kudos to our team, as this young bunch exceeded all expectations to EARN a second place finish in a tough RRAC.
Sam Fouse and James Vogel each played well at the top two singles spots but ended up falling. Faith got on the board when Josiah Garlan nabbed a 6-4 win at 3rd singles to keep the Crusaders in it. Parker Violand and Arnav Bhushran teamed up for doubles and played the duo that ended up winning the RRAC Individual doubles tournament, and played great before falling 5-7.

Second doubles was special, as it marked the debut of Carson Lajuan to the lineup. Carson had been at all the practices prior to the season but an illness kept him from playing until the finale.  He had earned a starting spot before getting sick, and we were honored to have him start this match as well. He and Zane Kelly played great, but did end dropping the match.

We also saw Bonus Match singles action from Ryan - a win! - and a Bonus doubles match from Jaxon/Sergio, and it was a well played encounter.

While we ceratinly would have liked to have won this contest, finishing second is an EXCELLENT showing, seeing how exactly two members of the team had ever started a MS match for Faith before. Many of these kids will be back and have a ton more experience next year. 2019 was great and 2020 will be even better!
