  • Bob Chinn hired as Faith Lutheran's new girl's Soccer coach

    Faith Lutheran High School Athletic department names Bob Chinn the new head women’s soccer coach for the 2019-20 school year.  Bob has been with and has been passionate about the Faith Lutheran women’s soccer program for the past 9 years.  He's served as the high school assistant coach and has also coached in the middle school program during that time.  Athletic Administrator, Bret Walter said, "We're very excited to have someone like Coach Chinn as our Head Coach.  He's a high character Christian man who absolutely loves our program and players.  He will put together a great staff and our program will continue to move forward under his leadership." 
     
    Bob brings in 25 years of experience coaching soccer.  He's coached at all levels, ranging from middle school to adults, and has coached in the school and the club system.
     
    Bob brings in a vast array of professional leadership experience from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, where he served on the force for 30 years and was involved in high management positions for Metro.  He also has served as President of the Southern Nevada Police Athletic League as well as the Silver State Girl’s Soccer League.  He currently holds NSCAA National Coaches License and a US Soccer National D License.

  • Great Day for Faith Lutheran Athletics

    Faith Lutheran High School saw 7 athletes sign or commit to their respective colleges and universities during their largest signing event to date.  The schools range from Division III to Division I and included the sports of baseball, football, soccer, volleyball and wrestling.  The following athletes that made their athletic commitments today are, Jake Ortega-UNLV (baseball), Greg Oliver-Portland State (football), Sebastian Burke-University of San Diego (football), Kyrie Lorfing-Columbia University (volleyball), Kadyn Lane-Concordia Nebraska (soccer), Carson Cook-Concordia Wisconsin (wrestling) and Gabe Rodriguez-Concordia Wisconsin (wrestling).  Faith Lutheran currently has 15 athletes that have committed to play at the collegiate level.  Congratulations to all these young men and women and their families.

  • Mountain Regional Wrestling Results

    Faith Lutheran Wrestling finished 4th at the 4A Mountain Regionals over the weekend, scoring 125 points.  Cimarron Memorial won the event with 231 points.  Faith Lutheran had 6 wrestlers place and qualify for the state championships, February 8-9, in Winnemucca, NV. 

    At 182 lbs, Connor Bourne captured the regional title and at 152 lbs, Carson Cook won his weight class as well.  Noah Vernon placed 2nd in the 138 lb division and teammate Slade Diaz placed 4th in the same weight class.  In the 170 lb division, Keisel Perez took 3rd place and Kile Driscoll placed 4th in the 132 lb weight class.

  • Roundup: Donavan Jackson helps Faith Lutheran top Silverado

    Donavan Jackson scored 34 points on Saturday to lead Faith Lutheran’s boys basketball team to an 85-73 road win over Silverado.
    Brevin Walter added 16 points, and Raymond Rosolino scored 14 for the Crusaders, who led 30-29 at the half.
    Martell Williams had 40 points for the Skyhawks, and teammate Damion Byrd scored 12.

  • Roundup: Faith Lutheran tops Silverado

    Kelsey Howryla scored 13 points Saturday to lead Faith Lutheran’s girls basketball team to a 49-38 road victory over Silverado.
    Quianna Brown added 10 points for Faith Lutheran, which led 27-17 at the half.
    Tatyahna Cannon paced Silverado with 13 points.

  • Brevin Walter, senior classmates deliver for Faith Lutheran

    No one would have blamed Faith Lutheran boys basketball coach Bret Walter for gushing over his son’s play on Senior Night.
    The veteran coach was proud of Brevin Walter’s 35-point effort but was quick to point out how every one of his Crusader seniors had a hand in a thrilling 82-78 home win over Northwest League-leading Arbor View on Thursday.  READ ARTICLE

    Elijah Kothe

    Elijah Kothe has been named the 2017-18 Faith Lutheran High School Male Athlete of the Year.  Elijah signed his National Letter of Intent with San Diego State University to play football.

    Kendall Larson

    Kendall Larson is the 2017-18 Faith Lutheran High School Female Athlete of the Year.  Kendall was also named NIAA Top 10 Scholar Athlete for the State of Nevada.

Tradition of Excellence

Faith Lutheran boasts a proud tradition in athletics. Our teams have earned 42 State Championships and 33 State Runner-Up banners in our school’s history. We have won the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association’s Award of Excellence in Academics, Athletics, and Citizenship an impressive six times. Currently, former Crusader athletes can be found on teams at The Naval Academy, USC, University of Kansas, Auburn, LSU, Duke, Boise State, Princeton, University of Minnesota, Northern Arizona, Denver University and Concordia University to name a few. Our athletics program is constantly growing and improving, boasting a state of the art strength and conditioning center to help our hundreds of student athletes accomplish even more.
