Are you interested in Cybersecurity or Cyber Defense Competitions? Students will dive into topics such as reverse engineering, web exploitation, traffic analysis, and cryptography; as well as learn to defend computer systems and networks from cyberattacks in real-world scenarios. Butterfly Club Information:
*Do you have a green thumb? Join our Club!
We need both MS and HS students to help care and tend the Butterfly Garden across from the greenhouse. Students can join this club any time of the year and attend any dates they are available. We are anticipating the migration of the monarch butterflies to come to our campus in late October. We will collect data in Science classes and hope to care for caterpillars that will transform into butterflies and continue their great migration to Canada and Mexico.
WORKSHOPS INCLUDE: gardening tips & tricks, rock painting, ceramic garden sculpture making and growing plants in the greenhouse.

Aktivate: If you are planning on participating in High School Sports, please complete your Aktivate registration for the
2023/2024 school year ASAP. www.aktivate.com

NEW NIAA PHYSICAL FORMS INFORMATION effective 4/1/23
A new physical required every 12 months.
--The new Pre-Participation form consists of three pages, HEALTH HISTORY FORM, PHYSICAL EXAMINATION FORM & MEDICAL ELIGIBILITY FORM
--Pages 1 and 2, the Health History Form & Physical Examination Form must remain on file with the student’s medical provider. DO NOT upload these forms into Aktivate or turn them into Faith Lutheran.
**Parents are required to upload page 3, Medical Eligibility Form to Aktivate for approval.**
--Physicals EXPIRE 12 months from the date of previous physical.
--If your athlete’s physical expires before or during their season, they will not be allowed to try out for a team. Example: Your child is trying out for a fall sport, your previously completed physical was done on
11/10/22. The physical is expired as of 11/10/23. It will not be valid for the 2023/2024 Fall season since it expires during the Fall season. A new physical must be obtained before the season in order for your athlete to tryout for
their Fall sport.

TRANSFER STUDENTS

If you are transferring from out of state or from another school you MUST complete your transfer in Aktivate ASAP. DO NOT WAIT. The approval process for transfer students can take weeks or months to get completed & approved. This could affect your athlete participating in their season. Mathcounts this year. It is open to any 6 - 8th grader who has a passion for math beyond what is taught in the classroom. DEVOTIONS
Today’s Reading: Romans 9:1-13
Romans 9:11: “in order that God’s purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of him who calls.”
In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. It’s a dangerous thing to look at missions and assume you’re more loving than God is. Almost all of us have someone in our life outside of the faith. Every single one of us is uncomfortable about it. Even though God is the one who did the work to die and rise again to save us. Even though we cannot by our own reason or strength believe in this Jesus Christ our Lord or come to Him, we make it our “mission” to make sure someone else does. What can we do? What can we say? How can we make them believe? Paul struggles with it, and I deeply understand his frustrations.
To Paul’s people belong the promises, the Law, the worship, the covenants. Yet not all of them are children of Abraham. It is not as though the Word of God has failed, though. Remember, God’s purpose of election, His love for sinners, is what first drove Him to the cross. Do you think He loves us less this side of Easter, now that the painful part is over? All who hear and receive God’s promises in faith hear because He calls. Yes, some will hear and ignore. Some will close their ears to the Law and the promises. It doesn’t mean God doesn’t want them saved. After all, He calls them, which shows He wants them saved. It also doesn’t fall on you to fix what God supposedly did wrong.
There will be people who hate the promises, but they can’t unmake them. It isn’t yours to save your friends anymore than it is Paul’s. But God wants them saved even more than you do. Even if they hate the promises now, they can’t unmake them. So God will still proclaim, and the Holy Spirit will still work to call, gather, enlighten, sanctify, and even keep. Rest here. If there are such things as missions, recognize it is God who is at work, and simply take joy in the reality He cares about the people in your life enough to make promises to them over and over, and that His Word does not return void. In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.
