Intrasquad Scrimmage a Rousing Success!
After three days of tryouts and several practices, our teams were ready for our (almost) annual Friday Night Intrasquad Scrimmage. We had a really good time, and showed a good deal of progress as the night went on.
Our Athletic Department was supportive enough to offer us the chance to have a certified official for this scrimmage, and Mr. Williams was excellent to have for our kids, helping them through the logistics of game mechanics and some foul calls. That will be a big help for us moving forward.
The A team offense was in good form early on, as the B team was adjusting to game speed. However, the B team defense shored up as the game went on and played quite well, especially in the second half. It was great to see! The A team did some excellent things on defense as well - working live on sets we had never even practiced, and doing it well.
Lots and lots of fun, and gave us things to work on as well. We are excited for our preparation over Christmas Break as we get ready for the Mater Knights Preseason Tournament coming up on January 7th and 8th.
