At Faith Lutheran High School, we have been blessed to provide devices for students to use while at Faith and to offer them, upon graduation, to students that have been here for the full 4 years. We also allowed seniors who have been here for less than 4 years to purchase the school’s laptop. This will be changing this year.
This year Apple has changed the MacBook Air line up and because of these changes we will need to modify expectations on the way we sell MacBook Air to seniors.
In the past, seniors could purchase their laptops if they had been at faith less than 4 years. Students that have been with Faith the full four years were given the school’s laptop at no cost. This has been changed.
We need to make sure we can support all the future classes of students and the changes we will make to sell laptops will be that we will not sell laptops to students that have been here less than 3 years. If you have been here 3 years or more and less than the full 4 years, the laptop can be purchased for $300 (unless that device is a newer model than what was originally assigned which may be more). Laptops, if found damaged, will incur fees to repair.
We also must state that future offerings to students that are here less than the full 4 years is not a guarantee. We may have to restrict this more in the future.
If you are not a senior completing your full four years and are not returning to Faith, we will not sell the school’s laptop to you.

DEVOTIONAL
But on that day I will set apart the land of Goshen, where My people dwell, so that no swarms of flies shall be there, that you may know that I am the Lord in the midst of the earth. (Exodus 8:22)
In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. Why does God do things? Why does He hit the Egyptians with flies? Why does He single out His people to save them this time and at other times let them suffer?
If we look at these things outside of Jesus, God seems a bit fickle. Jacob He loved. Esau He hated. The rain falls on the just and the unjust. Being good doesn’t even matter—look at Job! He suffers for what seems to be just God’s proving a point.
But in Christ, we see how God wants to save us. Everything He does, everything He says, all the plagues, and all the suffering in life come to us in order to save us. He wants to show us that He is God. He wants to show us that we are not. He wants to save us from our enemies: Pharaoh, the devil, the world, and our own sinful flesh.
God wants to save His people from their sins. That’s why He sends His Son! All of human and cosmic history—everything that has ever happened in all of human history—was to bring salvation to you in Jesus. Adam and Eve, Jacob and Esau, Abraham and Sarah, Moses, Joshua, David and Bathsheba, all of it—every minute, hour, day, and year—was pushing toward God’s sending His Son. It all was done so that Jesus would do a Lent for you, to suffer and die on the Cross to save you. The Cross is the center of all human history!
Jesus takes your sins on the Cross. He dies, suffering for every evil and sin for all time. All of the wrath of God falls upon Him. His death is the coming even of all of God’s anger with you. God is no longer mad at you. He can’t be. He has given up Jesus.
God desires all to be saved, especially you. This means that no matter what happens in your life, no matter what befalls you, or what evil the devil launches your way, He will carry you through it and use it to save you and others. He takes the evilest things—even Good Friday—and makes them good for you.
I don’t know why God does the things He does. I don’t know why bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people. I know this: God has sent His Son to save you and me. When it rains on me, God is using that to save me or others. Even death itself has been turned into a gate leading to Him. Trust this Gospel. Believe it. He works all things out for good for those who love Him. That means He works all things out for you! In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.
