Crusaders win Canarelli Tournament

The Lady Crusaders lost their first game in v. Canarelli on Friday night 27-36.  The team was lead by Co-Captain Kelsey Howryla and Kennedy Jardine in scoring.  They started strong on Saturday morning, and were able to lead the whole game v. Schofield with all players contributing in a 43-32 victory.  Co-Captain Skye Landaz led the team with 13 points, joined by Howrya's 9 pts, Jardine's 9 pts., 4 pts. from Ava Linares, 3 from Lili Arnold and 2 each for Eden O'Sullivan and Denida Rahmani.  The next game the Crusaders maintained a steady attack with a series of fast breaks and strong play from returning player Ava Linares, who had 12 points over Garside 47-29.  Howryla had 12 pts, Landaz 9, Jardine 7, Arnold 5 and Rahmani 2 pts. This win put the Crusaders in the Championship game.  The Crusaders maintained a steady pace with solid half court offense and led most of the game which remained close until the last several minutes.  The Crusaders pulled away with free throws and some key baskets.  It was a team victory, with Howryla scoring 13, Linares 12, Jardine 10, Landaz and Rahmani 5, and Arnold 2 pts.  The Crusaders joined the our boys' A team as both teams secured the tournament championship.  This is the third year in a row the Lady Crusaders have won this tournament.
