  • Lightfoot Commits to Western Colorado

    Kendall Lightfoot has committed to Western Colorado University to play football in the fall for the Mountaineers.  Kendall participated in football and basketball during his time at Faith Lutheran High School.  Congratulations to Kendall and his family for great accomplishment!

    Great Day for Faith Lutheran Athletics

    Faith Lutheran High School saw 7 athletes sign or commit to their respective colleges and universities during their largest signing event to date.  The schools range from Division III to Division I and included the sports of baseball, football, soccer, volleyball and wrestling.  The following athletes that made their athletic commitments today are, Jake Ortega-UNLV (baseball), Greg Oliver-Portland State (football), Sebastian Burke-University of San Diego (football), Kyrie Lorfing-Columbia University (volleyball), Kadyn Lane-Concordia Nebraska (soccer), Carson Cook-Concordia Wisconsin (wrestling) and Gabe Rodriguez-Concordia Wisconsin (wrestling).  Faith Lutheran currently has 15 athletes that have committed to play at the collegiate level.  Congratulations to all these young men and women and their families.
  • Gronauer Commits to Idaho State

    Sagan Gronauer signed his letter of intent to Idaho State on December 19th.  Congratulations to Sagan as he continues his football career at the next level.  Go Crusaders!
  • Arbor View defense stymies Faith Lutheran in 28-7 victory

    Arbor View’s first play from scrimmage couldn’t have gone much worse, as the Aggies fumbled into their end zone and Faith Lutheran recovered for a touchdown. It was all Aggies from there.  Arbor View intercepted three passes and held Faith Lutheran to 80 yards of offense in a 28-7 home win Friday night in the Mountain Region championship game, the Aggies’ first region title.  READ ARTICLE
  • Ground game carries Faith Lutheran past Canyon Springs

    Faith Lutheran has spent most of the season slinging the ball around the field with quarterback Sagan Gronauer.
    Friday night, the Crusaders turned to the ground game. Faith Lutheran rushed for 318 yards and six touchdowns on the way to a 48-35 road win over Canyon Springs in the Class 4A Mountain Region semifinals.  READ ARTICLE
  • Faith Lutheran shuts down Legacy in playoff opener

    Legacy’s football program has long been known for its rushing attack.  So, when the Longhorns visited Faith Lutheran on Friday in the opening round of the Class 4A Mountain Region playoffs, Crusaders coach Vernon Fox knew the avenue to the second round was by forcing Legacy’s offense into a one-dimensional unit.

  • Faith Lutheran caps regular season with win over Bonanza

    Faith Lutheran coach Vernon Fox put together a brutal early schedule to test his team before it started Northwest League play and to prepare the Crusaders for a possible playoff run. The Crusaders (6-4, 5-1 Northwest) passed their final test of league play with a resounding 41-12 blowout win at Bonanza on Thursday night.  Read Article
  • Faith Lutheran cruises by Shadow Ridge, wins 41-8

    Faith Lutheran senior quarterback Sagan Gronauer said he’d never seen so much open field in his career.  After Shadow Ridge’s defense bit on a fake to tailback Julian Rohan late in the first quarter, Gronauer ran 82 yards untouched to give the Crusaders an early lead. Gronauer and his teammates never looked back, and cruised to a 41-8 road victory on Friday.  Read Article
  • Late interception secures Arbor View’s 10-7 win over Faith Lutheran

    Niles Scafati-Boyce had a feeling the ball was coming his way, so the Arbor View senior defensive back just went up and got it.
    And secured a key Northwest League in in the process.  Scafati-Boyce’s interception in the end zone with 32 seconds to play locked up the Aggies’ 10-7 road win over Faith Lutheran on Friday.  See Article
  • Defense keys Faith Lutheran’s 36-7 victory over Centennial

    Centennial was about to steal the momentum in the first quarter Friday night against Faith Lutheran. Connor Bourne’s sack then helped turn the game around, and the sixth-ranked Crusaders rolled to a 36-7 home win over the ninth-ranked Bulldogs. Bourne said big plays just sort of happen for Faith Lutheran’s defense, and that certainly was the case Friday.  Read Article
  • JSerra routs Faith Lutheran

    Faith Lutheran struck first on Friday night, kicking an early field goal.  But things didn’t end well for the Crusaders as JSerra Catholic (California) scored 28 second-quarter points en route to a 50-10 home win over Faith Lutheran.  Alex Khachoyan kicked a 38-yard field goal with 7:30 to go in the first quarter to give the Crusaders the 3-0 lead. 
    Peyton Thornton scored on a 25-yard pass from Sagan Gronauer, and Keagan Touchstone had a first-quarter interception for Faith Lutheran (1-3).  Six players scored for the Lions. Quarterback Caden Bell threw three touchdown passes, including a 52-yarder to Tarik Luckett.
  • Sagan Gronauer leads, Keagan Touchstone sets record in Faith Lutheran win

    Faith Lutheran quarterback Sagan Gronauer was determined to avenge last week’s 35-0 season opening loss to Valor Christian (Colorado).  Using his feet, arm and leadership skills, Gronauer helped the Crusaders roar to a big lead and hold on for a 42-28 home win over Bakersfield Christian (California) on Friday.  Article Link
  • Faith Lutheran blanked at home by Colorado team, 35-0

    Opening night 2018 was one that Faith Lutheran would rather forget.  The Crusaders never got the momentum going in the right direction Friday and failed to maintain any consistent offense. Throw in a defense that looked flummoxed by Valor Christian (Colorado) star quarterback Luke McCaffrey and the end result was a 35-0 home loss.

    When he sat across from them in 2013, those who would decide if he was the right person to oversee Faith Lutheran football, those who wanted to know his plans for helping the program continue its ascent, you can be sure Vernon Fox trusted those words by which he leads young men.
