    Great Day for Faith Lutheran Athletics

    Faith Lutheran High School saw 7 athletes sign or commit to their respective colleges and universities during their largest signing event to date.  The schools range from Division III to Division I and included the sports of baseball, football, soccer, volleyball and wrestling.  The following athletes that made their athletic commitments today are, Jake Ortega-UNLV (baseball), Greg Oliver-Portland State (football), Sebastian Burke-University of San Diego (football), Kyrie Lorfing-Columbia University (volleyball), Kadyn Lane-Concordia Nebraska (soccer), Carson Cook-Concordia Wisconsin (wrestling) and Gabe Rodriguez-Concordia Wisconsin (wrestling).  Faith Lutheran currently has 15 athletes that have committed to play at the collegiate level.  Congratulations to all these young men and women and their families.
  • Mountain Regional Wrestling Results

    Faith Lutheran Wrestling finished 4th at the 4A Mountain Regionals over the weekend, scoring 125 points.  Cimarron Memorial won the event with 231 points.  Faith Lutheran had 6 wrestlers place and qualify for the state championships, February 8-9, in Winnemucca, NV. 

    At 182 lbs, Connor Bourne captured the regional title and at 152 lbs, Carson Cook won his weight class as well.  Noah Vernon placed 2nd in the 138 lb division and teammate Slade Diaz placed 4th in the same weight class.  In the 170 lb division, Keisel Perez took 3rd place and Kile Driscoll placed 4th in the 132 lb weight class. 
  • Roundup: Hunter Vernon’s quick pin sets tone in Crusaders’ win

    Hunter Vernon pinned his opponent at 106 pounds in just 43 seconds Wednesday to lead Faith Lutheran’s wrestling team to a 60-14 home win over Bonanza.
    Sebastian Marino (126), Carson Cook (160), Keisel Perez (170) and Leonardo Mendoza (182) also won by fall for the Crusaders.
    Derrick Red (120) and Leatuvaloalii Tulimasealii (285) won by fall for the Bengals.
  • Four More Crusaders Commit to Respective Colleges

    Faith Lutheran High School Athletics announces four athletes committing to their respective colleges and sports for next fall.  Maddie Stenslie, girl's soccer, has commited to play at Oklahoma University in Norman, OK.  Anthony Hibler, boy's lacrosse, had made his commitment to North Central College in Naperville, IL.  Connor Bourne, wrestling, will begin his collegiate career at American University in Washington D.C.  Alexi Johnson, girl's track, has committed to New Mexico State University.  Congratulations to all these athletes and their parents!  Go Crusaders!

    Top wrestlers: Connor Bourne (Sr.), Carson Cook (Sr.), Gabriel Rodriguez (Sr.)

    Outlook:
    Bourne is the defending Class 4A state champion at 182 pounds and went 38-6 last season. He’ll likely wrestle at 182 or 195.
    Also back to help lead the team are Cook (152 or 160) and Rodriguez (126 or 132) who both were state quarterfinalists.
    In all, the Crusaders welcome back 10 lettermen.  “We want to continue to improve each practice and compete,” Gonzales said.
