World Languages

The Faith Lutheran Foreign Language Department offers classes in Spanish and French. The classes seek to develop the students' abilities in the areas of reading, writing, listening, and speaking in the target languages, as well as giving the students a deeper knowledge of the target cultures. Each level builds on previously learned knowledge, scaffolding the students vocabulary, grammar, and ability to express themselves verbally and in writing. Each class offers level-appropriate opportunities for the students to become comfortable speaking and listening in a variety of situations.

At the High School level, our French and Spanish classes are offered through AP level. In the Middle School, students have the opportunity to complete their first year of Spanish in a one or two year track.

In order to graduate from Faith, students must have two credits of consecutive or progressive language. This requirement involves two years of study in the same language.
