Theology

The eternal salvation of each student through the saving grace of Jesus Christ is our school’s first priority. Students at Faith take a full year of Biblical theology each year they attend. In most cases, Freshmen take Faith I, Sophomores take Faith II, Juniors take Faith III, and Seniors take Faith IV. By application, students may also take up to two years of Applied Christianity, though not in consecutive years.
  • Applied Christianity HS A

This class will give students tangible ways to live a Christian life in an increasingly challenging world. Most visibly, students in this class will help in the creation and presentation of the weekly chapel services. Prayer life and witnessing become the fruits to a mature Christian life and represent the goals of this class. Christians, therefore, will have an opportunity to share their joys and struggles with people who will be able to relate. This class is open to any high school student. It can be taken up to two, non-consecutive times in high school. Prerequisite: application with the teacher. (Grades 9-12)
  • Faith I A

Faith I is an introductory course that covers some of the most fundamental and significant teachings of the Christian faith. The central focus of the class is the person and work of Jesus and what this means for us today. Other topics include the Prayer, “Who is Jesus?”, the Origins and Reliability of Scripture, 10 Important Theological Words, Adversity, Reading the Bible in Context, Church, and more. (Grade 9)
  • Faith II A

This course focuses on the New Testament portion of the Bible. As in Faith I, the central focus of the class is the person and work of Jesus and what this means for us today. We plan to achieve this goal through a detailed study of the Gospel of Luke. We will then explore the work of Jesus Christ as he sends the Holy Spirit to the early church as described in Acts. This work is reinforced through the writings of Paul and others in Romans, the Epistles and Revelation. (Grade 10)
  • Faith III A

Faith 3 is a course that focuses on the Old Testament portion of the Bible. The central focus of this class is to detail the history of God's people and the genesis of the whole world. We will achieve this goal through a detailed study of the Torah (i.e. first five books of the OT) during the first semester. In the second semester, students will continue to study Israel's history and God's continued provision and love for His people. Important themes such as Messiah, redemption, law, gospel, etc. will be carefully examined and used as the vehicle as we study the books of Genesis to the intertestamental period and everything in between. (Grade 11)
  • Faith IV A

“In your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.” 1 Peter 3:15

Is religion a matter of truth or opinion? The Bible presents Christianity as OBJECTIVELY true, rooted in historical events, and testable against reality. (Most worldviews, even religious ones don’t even claim objective truth, but rather relative “truth” or spiritual “truth.”)

The claims: God created all things from nothing.  Mankind rebelled against God.  Our only hope is His mercy.  He gave us His mercy through Jesus Christ, who lived a perfect life and then died for our sins before rising from the grave.  If true, it’s the most important news for all people in all times and all places.  If false, it’s just another cult or myth.

Faith IV explores the evidence for the Christian faith with the intent of bolstering the faith of Christians (and giving them tools pertaining to 1 Peter 3:15), as well as sharing truth with agnostics and skeptics so that God might grant them the gift of saving faith in Jesus. (Grade 12)
  • Faith.0 - The Story A

Faith.0 is a survey class that covers the whole Bible. By the school year's end, students will be able to boast they read the entire Biblical narrative. The reading of the Biblical narrative will be placed within the context of other Biblical events as well as ancient history. Students will see how the Bible is the Story of the salvation needed and accomplished through Jesus the Christ. (Grades 10-12).
  • Theology and Vocation A

As the capstone course for the Christ Academy of Theology and Ministry, this course is required for graduation from the Academy but also open to others with an interest in Biblical theology and spiritual growth. The focus of the course is to encourage students to consider church work careers (such as pastor, teacher,  etc.) but also to equip students for their many vocations in life - student, son/daughter, church member, employee/employer, husband/wife, parent, etc. This course is very student driven and topics discussed include faith, church, history, music, movies, marriage, sexuality, college, ethics, etc. This course will be offered in 2026-2027 and again in 2028-2029, and cannot be used in place of a regular Theology credit. Prerequisite: Students must be members of the Christ Academy or have teacher approval. (Grades 10-12)
