Faith Lutheran Seniors Shine on National Stage at MLB High School All-American Game
Two of Faith Lutheran’s own, Kingston Kela (‘26) and Rookie Shepard (‘26), are making Crusader history this week as they take the field among the nation’s top high school baseball players in the 2025 MLB High School All-American Game at Dodger Stadium.
This annual showcase, organized by MLB, USA Baseball, and Area Code Baseball, is known for featuring the country’s most elite high school talent and athletes who are often projected to be early round picks in upcoming MLB Drafts. Past participants have gone on to play for Major League teams like the Boston Red Sox, Washington Nationals, and St. Louis Cardinals.
Kela, a TCU commit, and Shepard, a University of Miami commit, are two of only 11 alumni from MLB Develops’ Breakthrough Series invited to compete this year. They will join players from across 15 states, representing the best of the best in the Class of 2026. This is the same event where last year’s roster produced multiple first round draft picks, a testament to the level of talent on the field.
The game will be broadcast 8/12/25 at 7:00pm, with a re-air on MLB Network on August 15. Legendary baseball names like Mike Scioscia and David Eckstein will be managing and coaching, alongside former pros and MLB scouts. Congratulations Kingston and Rookie!
