Anna Peralta

Director of Academic Support

The Student Resource Program is designed to serve the needs of our diverse student body. The Resource Program offers academic support services to students with diagnosed learning disabilities and those who have a documented need for educational support. The Academic Support Center serves as an advocate for students and their parents, as well as a resource for the Faith Lutheran faculty and staff.

Students applying for the Resource Program must meet the same admissions standards as all other incoming students. Consideration for enrollment in the Resource program requires a recent (within the past 3 years) neuropsychological evaluation or current Learning Profile Accommodation Plan. There is a per-semester fee for students enrolled in Resource.

Enrollment in the Resource Program is limited, but does offer students, who choose to apply themselves, an opportunity for a Christian education while providing them with individual academic support. The Academic Support Center, in consultation with the school administration, will determine student’s eligibility for the program. Class size limitations may mean that not all applicants will be admitted.

Accommodations are designed for each student in the program through the development of a Learning Profile (LP) accommodation plan. It is our goal to have students become self-advocating, independent learners.

  • At times, students may fall behind or need extra, timely support during school hours. Based on academic performance, the Director of Academic Support assigns students to mandatory academic centers.

  • Students with diagnosed learning disabilities may be eligible for an 80-minute block, every other day, in the resource classroom where they can receive help on assignments, work on homework, finish any tests and quizzes, and work on projects and papers with the help of any educators in the room. Qualification for this program is based on the review of a neuropsychological evaluation. Students who qualify will receive a Learning Profile (LP) accommodation plan, updated yearly.

The Middle School and High School Resource Program is different from a resource room in the public school system. Students in this program are expected to do the same curriculum, at the same pace, without any modifications. The small class sizes in the program ensures that we strive to meet the school’s mission: Everyone Prepared! Everyone Saved!

In addition to a resource block, students in the Resource Program are able to use the Testing Center for assessments. There is a per semester cost* for Resource Program services.

  • The Middle School and High School Testing Center Program offers students a quiet environment for assessments. Qualification for this program is based on review of a neuropsychological evaluation. Students who qualify will receive a Learning Profile (LP) accommodation plan, updated yearly.

There is a per semester cost* for Testing Center services.

  • Students who need occasional homework help can meet with teachers before or after school during their office hours or they can take advantage of a number of peer tutoring opportunities before or after school led by high school Honors Societies.
