Boys Tennis: Back-to-Back State Champs!

The Faith Lutheran boys tennis team clinched the 2025 Class 5A state championship with a 10–4 victory over top-seeded Palo Verde, securing back-to-back titles and the third team championship in program history! The win was especially meaningful as Palo Verde had handed the Crusaders their only regular-season loss, making Monday’s reversal a powerful statement of resilience and growth!

Faith Lutheran’s success was driven by standout performances across the lineup, including a pivotal comeback singles win from Tyson Young (’27) and strong doubles play from Samuel Gastaldo (’25) & Michael Bergin (’26) (who swept all three of their matches) and Davey Gluth (’26) & Paul Williams (’26), who won two of three and secured the clinching point for the title. Head coach Keith Fridrich praised the team’s determination and focus, especially after graduating all three singles starters from last year’s championship team, noting how proud he was of a group that worked relentlessly to make this victory possible!
