8 Houses, 1 Family
OUR HOUSE SYSTEM IS OUR WAY WE BUILD COMMUNITY AND CREATE BELONGING.
What exactly is the House system?
We have 8 unique Houses, built based on our Crusader mindset, that students are started into on their first day of 6th grade. They will stay a member of that House until their last day of 8th grade. Within that House, students have an advisory family group of 20-25 students. Each House has about 100 students in it. Students attend House meetings, play games, compete, and do service projects within their House. Each House has 4 student house leaders and one adult House advisor who plan events, create traditions, and find ways to celebrate the wins of each member of their House.
Why a House system?
Our House system is one of the ways that we seek to create belonging on our campus. Research shows that students do better when they have meaningful connections at their school. We are hardwired for community, so the Houses meet this fundamental need we have to belong. Our Houses help make our big school feel small!
Is it a competition?
Students can earn House points during everyday life in the classroom for showing the CRUSADER mindset. They can also get points for dressing up on House spirit days, or earning an award.
