HIGH SCHOOL
We know Apple will be releasing the next Operating System (OS) soon. This is MacOS 11 and called Big Sur. Please DO NOT UPGRADE TO IT!
It is a major upgrade/change and as of right now some of the software we use will need time to get their software compatible with the OS.
We will send out an email when it is O.K. to upgrade, but we cannot stress this enough, DO NOT UPGRADE to Big Sur (MacOS 11).
Applied Christianity Applications are now available! If you signed up for Applied next year, please check your emails for more information, and pick up an application from Ms. Gieseke in room 214. She is available before and after school. The deadline to turn in the application is Thursday, February 11th, so please pick up your application ASAP! (2/11)

Valentine Grams went on sale this morning!
Who can purchase these?
Anyone grades 6-12, faculty and staff, and parents can purchase these fun treats for their special someone.
What kind of grams are there?
We are selling three types of valentines grams. For $1 you can purchase a heart lollipop, for $3 you can purchase a teddy bear, and for $5 you can buy a song bomb to serenade the person of your choice.
When can you purchase these?
You can buy them before school and during lunch from February 1st-8th.
What are the song options?
There are 8 songs to choose from: Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison, I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston, Crazy in Love by Beyonce ft. J-Z, Love Story by Taylor Swift, You’re the One I Want from Grease, Baby by Justin Bieber, Sway by Dean Martin, but we highly recommend Careless Whispers by George Michael because there will be a live saxophone player.
When will you receive these?
We will be delivering the Valentine’s Grams on February 9th and 11th.
Where does the money we make go?
All of the proceeds made from the Valentine’s Grams go to LeadaChild. For more info visit https://www.leadachild.org.

High School Volleyball Tryouts are February 20th from 8:30 am-12 pm in the Arena. Athletes must have their Registered My Athlete completed and a printed "Certificate of Completion" brought to the tryout. If you have not spoken to Coach Fisher or have not come to the VB interest meeting and you are interested in playing volleyball, please contact Coach Amy Fisher ASAP. (2/20)

The Black History Month committee is hosting a school wide trivia competition and scavenger hunt all throughout February in which you will be able to win gift cards, candy or pizza! HS Girls Lacrosse
Want to try a different spring sport, come check out lacrosse. All experience levels welcome. Sticks and goggles available for use. Just bring cleats (preferably), mouth guard, water and mask. Hosted by the MS and HS Girls Lacrosse Coaches on Tuesdays and Thursdays in February 2, 4, 9, 11 and 2/25, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on the soccer field. Attend as many as you'd like. Daily Lectionary: Job 2:1-3:10; John 1:19-34
Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29b)
In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. Guilt can weigh you down. In some cases, your guilt can be a matter of public knowledge, but more often it's the result of private, even secret sins. If your parents or your friends found out about what you have buried deep within the recesses of your heart, it would be devastating. But the more you hide it, the heavier it weighs on you. You may even feel your shoulders drooping with the weight of your sin.
When John sees his cousin Jesus following His Baptism, He exclaims, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" This is not John's own idea, but it was revealed to him by the Holy Spirit.
The Spirit shows Jesus to be a Lamb not because He's cute and fluffy, but because He will be the sacrifice for a world of sin. If your sins seem unbearable, turn to the Lamb who bears your sins.
John's proclamation has become one of the pillars of the Divine Service. The Agnus Dei (Latin for Lamb of God) is the hymn we sing just after the Words of Institution and just before the Distribution. This is no accident. The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, whom John saw out by the Jordan River, also comes to the altar of your church. Only now He is not the sacrifice, but the Sacrament.
Sacrifices in the Old Testament were not only offered to God, but they became meals for the priests and for the people. Jesus, who bore your sins to the Cross where He shed His blood as a sacrifice, now comes to the altar, where gives His Body and sheds His Blood as a meal.
In the Holy Communion, the Lamb of God takes away your sin and He bestows on you His righteousness. There is a blessed exchange that happens at the altar. Your sins can no longer weigh you down when the Lamb bears them away. In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.
