MOST PREP SAT CLASSES
Faith Lutheran is proud to announce a new SAT preparation partnership with the founder and president of MostPrep, Mike Obstgarten. He will be running 6-week prep courses at 6:45 to 9:15pm in room 216 for juniors and seniors specifically for the SAT starting this summer for $600. Students interested in prepping for the ACT should still take this course as the exams are now similar enough that specific ACT courses are not necessary. This full-length course provides ample instruction and review of the concepts most
frequently tested on the SAT, as well as the coaching and implementation of the
test-taking techniques that have been proven to work, all while dispelling common
myths and reassuring students that the task in front of them is not as daunting as it
might seem. To sign up please fill out the form at this link a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the start of the class you are interested in. REGISTER The total $600 for the class will be added to your tuition bill once the class has begun. Contact Mr. Buikema at buikemad@flhsemail.org or Mike directly at mostprep@gmail.comwith questions.

At Faith Lutheran High School, we have been blessed to provide devices for students to use while at Faith and to offer them, upon graduation, to students that have been here for the full 4 years. We also allowed seniors who have been here for less than 4 years to purchase the school’s laptop. This will be changing this year.
This year Apple has changed the MacBook Air line up and because of these changes we  will need to modify expectations on the way we sell MacBook Air to seniors.
In the past, seniors could purchase their laptops if they had been at faith less than 4 years. Students that have been with Faith the full four years were given the school’s laptop at no cost. This has been changed.
We need to make sure we can support all the future classes of students and the changes we will make to sell laptops will be that we will not sell laptops to students that have been here less than 3 years. If you have been here 3 years or more and less than the full 4 years, the laptop can be purchased for $300 (unless that device is a newer model than what was originally assigned which may be more). Laptops, if found damaged, will incur fees to repair.
We also must state that future offerings to students that are here less than the full 4 years is not a guarantee. We may have to restrict this more in the future.
If you are not a senior completing your full four years and are not returning to Faith, we will not sell the school’s laptop to you.

DEVOTIONAL
Today’s Reading: 1 John 5:4-10
Daily Lectionary: Exodus 23:14-33; Luke 4:31-44
For there are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree. (1 John 5:7-8)
In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. When the soldiers were not sure that Jesus was dead, they decided to make sure by running a spear through His heart. “And at once there came out blood and water” (John 19:34b). This was a testimony that Jesus was indeed dead.
The water and the blood bear witness, but there are three that testify—John also includes the Spirit in his list of witnesses. The Spirit originates from the same source as the blood and the water. “When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, ‘It is finished,’ and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit” (John 19:30). The Spirit and the water and the blood all agree that Jesus is the crucified One.
“He who saw it has borne witness—his testimony is true, and he knows that he is telling the truth—that you also may believe” (John 19:35). These witnesses would be no good if they remained buried in history. John has borne these witnesses to you, so that you may believe.
Spirit. Water. Blood. These bear witness to a crucified Jesus, but they do not bear witness to a dead Jesus. Christ is risen, He is risen indeed! The Spirit is not only a Good Friday gift, but also an Easter Sunday gift. He breathes on His disciples and gives them the office of forgiveness. The water and the blood don’t just pour out of Jesus’ side; they pour out of the font and chalice. The body of Jesus isn’t hanging on a cross or buried in a tomb; it’s given for you from the altar to make you a part of it.
Spirit. Water. Blood. Preaching. Baptism. Supper. The ministry of the Church. Three that bear witness so that you also may believe.
“Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” “For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith” (1 John 5:5, 4). In the Name of + Jesus. Amen.
Water, blood, and Spirit crying, By their witness testifying To the One whose death-defying Life has come, with life for all. (Water, Blood, and Spirit Crying LSB 597:1)
