At Faith Lutheran High School, we have been blessed to provide devices for students to use while at Faith and to offer them, upon graduation, to students that have been here for the full 4 years. We also allowed seniors who have been here for less than 4 years to purchase the school’s laptop. This will be changing this year.
This year Apple has changed the MacBook Air line up and because of these changes we  will need to modify expectations on the way we sell MacBook Air to seniors.
In the past, seniors could purchase their laptops if they had been at faith less than 4 years. Students that have been with Faith the full four years were given the school’s laptop at no cost. This has been changed.
We need to make sure we can support all the future classes of students and the changes we will make to sell laptops will be that we will not sell laptops to students that have been here less than 3 years. If you have been here 3 years or more and less than the full 4 years, the laptop can be purchased for $300 (unless that device is a newer model than what was originally assigned which may be more). Laptops, if found damaged, will incur fees to repair.
We also must state that future offerings to students that are here less than the full 4 years is not a guarantee. We may have to restrict this more in the future.
If you are not a senior completing your full four years and are not returning to Faith, we will not sell the school’s laptop to you.

DEVOTIONAL
And they clothed Him with a purple cloth and twisted together a crown of thorns and they began to taunt Him, “Hail, King of the Jews.” (Mark 15:17-18)
In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. Adam’s fall was a shock wave of sin and death that spread throughout the cosmos. He and his wife ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the fruit that God had commanded them not to eat.
The fruit gave them what its name said: they knew good and evil. They knew also that they were evil. They had disobeyed God. They had wanted to be their own gods.
All of the universe fell with them. Everything warred against itself. Chaos and disorder reigned throughout the cosmos. The celestial bodies began to collide. Animals and people no longer got along. Conflict and resistance began between everything in creation.
God cursed the ground that man worked and tilled so it no longer yielded fruit. It instead gave thorns and thistles. It fought man. Creation groaned in opposition to the creature who had been given dominion over it. It longed for—we longed for—redemption.
Jesus is crowned with thorns. The curse of man—all men—is put upon His head. He is crowned with man’s curse. He wears it like a halo. Its thorns cause His sacred head to bleed. Drops of life coming from the death that is the curse of man’s sin.
He hangs on a tree, cursed by God (Deuteronomy 21:23). Abandoned by God. Rejected by His people. Numbered with sinners.
The earth quaked as creation groaned. The sun and the celestial bodies became dark. He cried out with a loud voice. God cries out with a loud voice and then breathes His last as the curtain in the temple that separates God from men is torn in two.
The world still fights you. The universe still is chaos. Heavenly bodies still collide. Our little yellow dwarf star still burns you if you are out too much in the sun. Animals are still afraid of you and thorns still come out of the ground.
But right now, in Christ, God and sinners are reconciled. Man and God’s creation, and everything that was undone by Adam’s fall, has been restored. It happened on the Cross when Christ hung on the cursed tree. It’s believed today by faith in the Son of God. It will be true on that most glorious Last Day, when the sky will turn dark, the earth will shake, and the dead will rise again. We, who are still struggling in this vale of sin and death will meet the Lord in the air. From then on and forever, we will always be with our King who saved us. In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.
