At Faith Lutheran High School, we have been blessed to provide devices for students to use while at Faith and to offer them, upon graduation, to students that have been here for the full 4 years. We also allowed seniors who have been here for less than 4 years to purchase the school’s laptop. This will be changing this year.
This year Apple has changed the MacBook Air line up and because of these changes wewill need to modify expectations on the way we sell MacBook Air to seniors.
In the past, seniors could purchase their laptops if they had been at faith less than 4 years. Students that have been with Faith the full four years were given the school’s laptop at no cost. This has been changed.
We need to make sure we can support all the future classes of students and the changes we will make to sell laptops will be that we will not sell laptops to students that have been here less than 3 years. If you have been here 3 years or more and less than the full 4 years, the laptop can be purchased for $300 (unless that device is a newer model than what was originally assigned which may be more). Laptops, if found damaged, will incur fees to repair.
We also must state that future offerings to students that are here less than the full 4 years is not a guarantee. We may have to restrict this more in the future.
If you are not a senior completing your full four years and are not returning to Faith, we will not sell the school’s laptop to you.

DEVOTIONAL
Today’s Reading: Hebrews 4:14-16
Daily Lectionary: Genesis 11:27-12:20; Mark 4:21-41
And so having a great High Priest who passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast to the confession. (Hebrews 14:5)
In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. Jesus is your High Priest. You are the priest to others. That’s the way the word “priest” is used in the New Testament!
Everything about your being a priest, your holding to the confession that He is your High Priest, and everything about your faith and life is connected to and flows from Jesus alone. You don’t decide or give Jesus your heart. You don’t struggle and strain all by yourself to stay in the faith of Jesus. He baptized you and washed you in the faith. He keeps you in the faith with His gifts. It all rests completely on Jesus.
He speaks and you speak back to Him what He says to you. He promises to keep the Law for you because you are unable to keep it. You trust that He has done this. He does a Lent for you and suffers and dies for all the times you haven’t kept the Law before God. You believe that His Lent and His Good Friday are for you.
Apart from Jesus, you are doomed. You are not just a little lost without Jesus, you are completely lost. Take Jesus out of the equation and you have no salvation, no priesthood, no heaven, no eternal life. Outside of Christ you are alone, punished by God, tossed to and fro by your feelings of inadequacy, and threatened by the consequences of your failures. What does life mean apart from Christ? You have no answer. The only certainty is that without Jesus you are going to get what you deserve: death and hell.
Don’t doubt. You aren’t without Him. He won’t let you be. He went through your life first for you. He suffered everything you suffer—the doubts, the pain, the loneliness, the feeling of failure, and the despair because you can’t make anything better. He went through it without failing. He then entered the most holy place and made an eternal sacrifice that counts more than all the animals slain to God before. He gave up His life. That’s what it means that He is your High Priest: He died for you.
In the faith, you can do anything and be anything. In Jesus, the sky is the limit! In His wounds, in His Lent for you, everything has meaning!
What does He tell you is most important? Be for others! Love them. Serve them. Be His priest to them, forgiving and pointing to the One who was sacrificed for them and you. He is your High Priest and you are there as His priest to them. In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.
