At Faith Lutheran High School, we have been blessed to provide devices for students to use while at Faith and to offer them, upon graduation, to students that have been here for the full 4 years. We also allowed seniors who have been here for less than 4 years to purchase the school’s laptop. This will be changing this year.
This year Apple has changed the MacBook Air line up and because of these changes wewill need to modify expectations on the way we sell MacBook Air to seniors.
In the past, seniors could purchase their laptops if they had been at faith less than 4 years. Students that have been with Faith the full four years were given the school’s laptop at no cost. This has been changed.
We need to make sure we can support all the future classes of students and the changes we will make to sell laptops will be that we will not sell laptops to students that have been here less than 3 years. If you have been here 3 years or more and less than the full 4 years, the laptop can be purchased for $300 (unless that device is a newer model than what was originally assigned which may be more). Laptops, if found damaged, will incur fees to repair.
We also must state that future offerings to students that are here less than the full 4 years is not a guarantee. We may have to restrict this more in the future.
If you are not a senior completing your full four years and are not returning to Faith, we will not sell the school’s laptop to you.

Remember the Faith Peer Support counselors are available any time to assist. Services include specialized tutoring, one on one sessions between yourself and a fellow student, Student mediation, and much more. WE HAVE AN EMAIL NOW!! please don't hesitate to inform if you see or hear something you are worried about. Emails are anonymous, please speak up. No problem is too insignificant.
COMMUNITY CRUSADER SERVICE HOURS OPPORTUNITY:
Love Never Fails is looking for high school student volunteers. Volunteer opportunities include set-up, greeting guests, attending tables, serving food, explaining special events, and cleaning up. This event will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019.
Volunteers would be needed to set-up tables from 7:00-8:00 pm on Friday, March 15, 2019. For the event on March 16th, volunteers are needed from 1:00-3:00 pm (event preparation), 5:00-9:00 pm (event service), and from 7:30-10:00 pm (event clean-up).

Online Health Sign-up for High School Students
If you are in need of completing your high school health credit, the Spring 2 session of online Health begins March 25. If you would like to be enrolled in this class, you must fill out the form at the link below by Friday March 15. You will be charged an extra $350 on your tuition bill for this class unless you have a study hall, late arrival or early dismissal in your 2018-2019 class schedule. If you took Health in 8th grade here at Faith or have taken Health at Las Vegas Day School, Adelson, Cornerstone, Alexander Dawson, Lake Mead Christian Academy or The Meadows in 7th or 8th grade, your high school Health requirement is already complete and you do not need this class. SAT & ACT Class
In cooperation with Princeton Review, Faith Lutheran is offering Princeton Review's Ultimate combined ACT & SAT course on campus, which includes 25 hours of instruction and 4 full-length diagnostic practice exams on Saturday mornings at 9:00. This course is valued at $1099, but Faith students can take it for only $599. The next available course starts with a practice test on January 26 and will run mostly Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, concluding just before the March SAT and April ACT. The following class will begin with a practice test on April 6 and will run mostly Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 PM, concluding just before the June SAT and June ACT. Exact dates for the classes are listed below. To sign up please fill out the form at this link by by March 22 for the Spring class. But God said to the woman, “You shall not surely die for God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God knowing good and evil.’ (Genesis 3:4-5)
In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. Don’t be deceived. Satan is real. He’s not a myth or a fictional character. His lies may be deceitful but his existence is actual. The serpent exists and he wants to destroy you.
He wants to kill your faith. He tries with everything he does to convince you, trick you, deceive you into any life, any existence that doesn’t flow and live from Jesus alone. He wants you to sin, but more than that, he wants you to think that you can fix things yourself with the God who created you. You can make it better. You are better.
You aren’t. You won’t be. You’ll never be—not apart from the One who Lented for you and in your place. Only in Jesus are you holy. Only in Christ are you right before God. Only in the suffering and death of Christ are you forgiven.
The whisper that says, “You can live in your sins” isn’t from Jesus. The self-righteousness that says “He’s writing for someone else and not against me,” isn’t the Holy Spirit. The two-facedness that thinks and sees evil in others while resting in its own goodness is the devil masquerading as an angel of light.
It is the serpent’s voice that says you can’t be forgiven. It is the Accuser who brings up your sins after Jesus has forgiven you. It’s the devil’s stitch that keeps you up at night worrying whether God can love you after what you have done.
Jesus. The One who crushes the serpent’s head is Jesus. He steps on the dragon’s head on the cross. Satan is defeated in the blood and water that flows from the crucified side of Jesus. Jesus wins. Satan is undone and his accusations are silenced for all time.
In Christ you overcome Satan. In the blood and water you have no fear of death. In the Word of His victory over death you conquer your sins. In the blood of the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world, the stench and guilt of Satan are forever banished from you.
Outside of Jesus you have no hope, no chance, no victory over Satan. He will ride you like a donkey straight to hell. You will get what you deserve and suffer for all eternity.
But you are not outside of Jesus. You are baptized. You are washed. You are forgiven. In Jesus, Satan cannot harm you—not today, not tomorrow, not ever. Jesus wins on Easter and you do, too. In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.
