NEWSIES AUDITIONS DEC 17-20.
Time to get ready for the next MS Musical!!
There will be a signup outside of my room... portable 58 -- not as cool as Moodle, but crusader connect doesn't work as well. Stop by and sign up-- if you don't we will have a wait line for people that just walk up but this way you can schedule something and not be waiting forever.
Please be advised that Dance Team is the only team that works with us in our rehearsal schedule.  If you are in basketball or cheer, sorry -- we cannot cast you -- you have already made that team.  Track and spring sports don't affect us too much -- but we do get first dibs on your time... ask Mr. Elliott if you need more clarification on this.
PLEASE - make sure your audition form is filled out before you come to the audition. It helps move things along. Mr. Elliott will send them to you if you sign up or if you ask for it.
The schedule for auditions so you know how it works
-Monday (12/17) and Tuesday (12/18) noon -4  - sign up recommended

DEVOTIONAL
Today’s Reading: Romans 15:4-13
Daily Lectionary: Isaiah 28:14-29; 1 John 5:1-21
For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. (Romans 15:4)
In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. What are you supposed to get out of reading the Bible? Some principles for daily living? A trembling fear of all the weird stuff that will happen before Jesus comes back? A history lesson? How about: none of the above. St. Paul tells us the Scriptures are written that we might have patience and comfort, which bring hope.
The patience that brings hope is given because we are impatient. We want everything now. You want the school year to be over so you can be in the next class, high school to be over so you can be in college, and the day to be over so you can go on your date.
The patience of the Scriptures is that the Lord has been working out His salvation since before the world began, throughout history, among all His impatient people. He’s slowly been working things out until the time was just right and He sent His Son to be born of a woman and die for our sins and rise on the third day to conquer sin and death.
The comfort of the Scriptures is given because we are bombarded by all kinds of ideas and lies that cause us DIS-comfort. Satan whispers that with our sins, we are no Christian. The world tempts us to deny Christ and live for ourselves. Our own sinful flesh could not care less about the Lord and our neighbor.
Against these enemies, the Scriptures give us hope by giving us Jesus―Jesus who has conquered sin and death by His perfect life and sacrificial death. Jesus who has washed us at the font, comforted us with His Word and given us the “comfort food” of His own Body and Blood. With the patience and comfort of the Scriptures, we have hope which reaches beyond this world and its troubles.
As the season of Advent continues to remind us that the Lord is coming, His Word, put down in the Holy Scriptures, continues to remind us that by His suffering and death and Word and gifts, we have nothing to worry about. Now that’s comforting! In the Name + of Jesus. Amen.
“Comfort, comfort ye My people, Speak ye peace,” thus saith our God; “Comfort those who sit in darkness, Mourning ‘neath their sorrows’ load. Speak ye to Jerusalem Of the peace that waits for them; Tell her that her sins I cover And her warfare now is over. (Comfort, Comfort Ye My People, LSB 347:1)
