Do you like pâtisseries, Paris and poodles? If so, Faith now has a French Club! Please join us to plan our first quarter event: A Crêpe Cooking Party. Come to the meeting on Thursday, September 20th from 2:45-3:30 pm in Miss Greene's room #214. You do not have to speak French to be in the club. You just have to like French culture! Apple announced the next operating system for your MacBook Air.It is called Mojave. Please do not install this version at this time. We have found that printing is broken when you do. I am sure Canon will work on a fix after it is released, but until that time PLEASE DO NOT UPGRADE TO MOJAVE. If you do and break printing, the only option we have left is to re-image your machine and you may lose photos and documents. We will post when it is O.K. to upgrade.
If you have not upgraded to High Sierra, now is the time to do that. High Sierra will prepare your system for what Mojave will introduce. If you have any questions, please contact tech support at techsupport@flhsemail.org.
Mosaic Cultural Council
Are you interested in learning about other cultures? Are you or your family a part of a unique culture that you would love to see represented on our campus? If you would like to learn more about cultural opportunities here at Faith or in the city of Las Vegas, consider joining the Mosaic Cultural Council. This club meets every Thursday during HS lunch in Portable 54 with Mr. Klenz. Online Health Sign-up for High School Students:If you are in need of completing your high school health credit, the Fall 2 session of online Health begins October 22. If you would like to be enrolled in this class, you must fill out the form at the link below by Friday October 12. You will be charged an extra $350 on your tuition bill for this class unless you have a study hall, late arrival or early dismissal in your 2018-2019 class schedule. If you took Health in 8th grade here at Faith or have taken Health at Las Vegas Day School, Adelson, Cornerstone, Alexander Dawson, Lake Mead Christian Academy or The Meadows in 7th or 8th grade, your high school Health requirement is already complete and you do not need this class. The HS volleyball team will be selling t-shirts until Sept. 19th (yes you can wear them on spirit Friday's) and will also be accepting donations during September and at any home games in October. Lord, What Should I Do? - Part 3
The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice. Proverbs 12:15
Another way God will lead you is through godly advice. Moses experienced this. Instead of getting help, he tried to do it all himself. At that point his father-in-law, Jethro, said to him, ‘What you are doing is not good’ (Exodus 18:17). Then he told Moses to delegate responsibility to capable leaders who could share the load with him. ‘Moses listened to his father-in-law and did everything he said’ (Exodus 18:24). As a result, Moses’ problem was solved, and Israel made it successfully to the Promised Land. Some of the time God will speak to you directly and reveal what you should do, but much of the time He will speak to you through relationships. He will bring wise and seasoned people alongside you. At that point you need to be humble enough to heed their advice. You may be good; indeed, you may be better than most. But you’ll never be as good as you could be, without the help of others. But you must be careful who you listen to – trustworthy counsellors and persons who want only what God wants. Such persons will stay objective, listen carefully, and answer slowly. Often they won’t give you an answer at the time you ask for it. They want to sleep on it; they want to pray about it; they want to think about it. Such a person is like having an extra set of eyes and ears. Why would you want to live without them? So today be open to those God sends into your life to help guide you.
