Interested in playing baseball this spring? We will have optional workouts at the baseball field throughout the fall/winter. A meeting will be held on 9/17 at the baseball field. For further information email coach Anderson (andersond@flhsemail.org) or stop by room 501 beforehand. 

Can we talk?There are times when the weight of the world presses you and you feel as though you have nowhere to turn. Meet our new Peer Support Counselors. Our goal is a to create a student friendly environment where students can come and to share their personal concerns. Would you be interested in becoming one of our support counselors? Applications deadline will be September 15th!

October 13th from 10am-2pm.  Help at 8:30am to set up and possibly even the prior afternoon.   We will also need help running the booths and games at the event.  On campus at 5055 S Durango Drive. Crusader Mascot Wanted!

WE ARE LOOKING FOR MULTIPLE VOLUNTEERS TO ENSURE ATTENDANCE OF OUR CRUSADER MASCOT AT HOME EVENTS AND SPECIAL REQUESTS BY ADVANCEMENT, ADMISSIONS, ETC.

 

THE MASCOT COSTUME WILL BE PROVIDED ALONG WITH THE SHEILD AND SPEAR.

There will be an information meeting for the Oct trip held on September 5th at 5:00pm in room #502

                                  MIDDLE SCHOOL

Any 6th-8th grade student is invited to check out Middle School Handbells:We will meet each week on Gold Wednesday or Gold Thursday. We will meet this week on Thursday at 7:00 AM in Rm 201. Anyone who has any interest in handbells is welcome to come. Whether you have experience or not, you are welcome to come participate! (8/29)

 

Do you love to help others?Do you want to improve your leadership and social skills?  Builder’s Club is a service organization for middle school students sponsored by our local Kiwanis chapter.  Our first general meeting is on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 7:20 a.m. in room 326.  Please pick up a membership form in room 326, if you haven't already.  (9/5)

Hey middle school students!Are you confused about how to use Crusader Connect? Struggling with your iPads? Just plain mixed up about how to get organized and be successful? Stop by the library Tuesday 8/28, Wednesday 8/29, or Thursday 8/30 between 3:05 and 4:00 for some help from one of our high school peer mentors!

 

Charlotte's Web auditions will be held in the CPAC at 330pm on Wednesday, September 26th, Thursday the 27thand invited callbacks will be on Friday the 28th at 330pm.

Mathcounts this year: It is open to any 6 - 8th grader who has a passion for math beyond what is taught in the classroom. We will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 - 5:00 pm with Mr. Kirkpatrick in room 327. Our first meeting will be Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 3:30 pm. David said, ‘I confessed all my sins to you...And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.’ Julie Ann Barnhill writes: ‘If you’re tired of pretending you have it all together, it’s time to act. For too long Christian women in particular have believed they’re the only ones dealing with shameful issues, agonising regrets, and skeletons in their closet. Once we open up to God, ourselves, and others, we experience exhilarating freedom and peace. A woman wrote to me: “I had an abortion when I was eighteen. Nobody knows. For years I marked the date on my calendar and grieved for the child nobody knew about, and the young woman who bore the guilt alone. No more! Now I know I’m not alone, and for the first time in my life I truly believe God is bigger than my secret – and He’s willing to forgive.” Secrets only hold power when they’re hidden. Once they’re revealed in the light of God’s love they lose their control. However, there are some things to consider before opening up to someone: 1) If that person repeats things others have shared in confidence, guess who’s up next for discussion? 2) Beware of someone who’s apt to offer unsolicited advice, then take offence when it’s ignored. 3) Stay away from somebody who tries to “fix” you, and tells you not to worry about your secrets. Instead, look for someone who: a) has good sense and knows when to “back off” and/or move forward when you’re upset; b) is up-front about their own struggles; c) is quick to listen and slow to speak; d) undergirds their words and counsel with scriptural truths.’
