NHS & SHH & NJHS Students! RE: Easter Baskets
Please bring Easter baskets benefiting pediatric cardiac patients and their families to either Mrs. Grant's room or Mr. Nagel's room, and please bring a completed service hour form when you do so. The deadline is Wednesday, March 21st.
Thank you for your generosity in helping local children who struggle with their health experience some happiness at Easter! :)
During advisory on Monday, February 26th, come to Room 66 during advisory to make cards for students impacted by the Florida school shooting.You will need to get a pass from your advisory teacher to attend, but we will have all of the materials ready for you to make cards. These cards will be send to a church near the shooting site which had many students and parents on campus that day. This is a great chance to spread some love and healing!

The AP Informational Meeting is being moved to Monday, February 26th during Advisory in the CPAC.
Online Health Sign-up for High School Students
If you are in need of completing your high school health credit, the Spring 2 session of online Health begins March 19. If you would like to be enrolled in this class, you must fill out the form at this link by Friday March 9 https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?fromEmail=true&formkey=dEJZNUFJWENFaTBlYW83cHBnNzdxcmc6MQ. You will be charged an extra $350 on your tuition bill for this class if you are not enrolled in a study hall, early dismissal or late arrival for the 2017-2018 school year. If you took Health in 8th grade here at Faith or have taken Health at Las Vegas Day School, Adelson, Cornerstone, Alexander Dawson or The Meadows in 7th or 8th grade, your high school Health requirement is already complete and you do not need this class. BOWLING CLUB:
Let’s go BOWLING! We are meeting February 27th from 4:00pm – 5:00pm at Red Rock Bowling Center. The cost is $4 which covers two games and shoes. Please sign up outside room 115. (2/26)
COMMUNITY CRUSADER SERVICE HOURS OPPORTUNITY:
CornerStone Christian Academy's 5K / 1 fundraiser is on March 10, 2013 at Bruce Trent park and they are looking for volunteers. The event day will open at 8 am. The 5K will begin at 9 am and the 1 mile walk will begin at 9:15 am. All finishers should be done by 10:30 am. Around 10:30 am we will begin our award ceremony (the 5k is timed and we have finisher medals) and the raffling of the class baskets.
We need 16-20 volunteers on the course directing the flow of the run and the water station. We would also love to have some entertainment on the course around the water station.
Packet pick up is Friday night at CornerStone from 4 pm - 7 pm. There will be a volunteers’ meeting at 7:15 pm on March 9th. I would like all volunteers to report to the park by 8 am on the 10th and in place no later than 8:45 am.

SAT & ACT Classes
In cooperation with Princeton Review, Faith Lutheran is offering 3 different chances to take Princeton Review's Ultimate course on campus, which includes 25 hours of instruction and 4 full-length diagnostic practice exams on Saturday mornings at 9:00. This course is valued at $1099, but Faith students can take it for only $599. The next available course starts with a practice test on March 17, but there are 2 other class choices that will meet in the Summer. SAT classes will run mostly Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, and the ACT class option will run mostly Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 PM with all practice exams being on Saturday mornings at 9:00 AM. Exact dates for the classes are listed below. Accessing PSAT Scores
All the PSAT scores from the exam taken in October are now available. The breakdown of each section, including the correct answers as well as a personalized study plan from Khan Academy can be found on your College Board account at collegeboard.org. If you have not yet, you will need to create a College Board account in order to see your scores. The directions are below. Please, please, please...if you have already created an account do not create another, as this will severely complicate all dealings with College Board in the future, from SAT's to AP's to eventually sending scores to colleges. If you can't remember if you already have an account, please go through the "forgot my password" or "forgot my username" process to be certain. Any issues with accounts need to be directed to College Board rather than Faith Lutheran. Paper copies of scores will not be distributed as College Board no longer sends paper scores, however there will be test score interpretation assemblies during advisories in January for further information and to answer any questions.

- Click “Sign Up”
- Go through the process of creating an account
- When done, sign in with your new username and password
- Click “PSAT 8/9”
- If your scores do not appear, click “Add Scores”
- You may be asked to enter your password again
- You may be asked to update/double check all your information
- Click “Update”
- Scores should now be viewable

Middle School Golf Interest Meeting
An interest meeting for boys and girls in grades 6-8 who’d like to play golf this spring will be held on Wednesday, March 7th, at 5:30 in Room 502 in the Aux Gym.
Parents are welcome to attend the meeting. Tryouts will be March 19-23.

Precious Blood - Precious You!
but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 1 Peter 1:19
The Bible says, ‘God paid a ransom...it was not paid with mere gold or silver...it was the precious blood of Christ’ (vv. 18-19). You must come to a place in your life where you are secure in who you are ‘in Christ’; where you don’t allow your sense of worth to be based on the opinions or actions of others. Stop trying to find your worth in how you look, or in what you do for a living, or in how people treat you. Your worth in God’s eyes is incalculable because Jesus shed His blood for you. ‘Precious blood, precious you!’ Yes, you have faults. Yes, there are things about you that need to be changed, but God is working on you just as He is on everybody else. Don’t let somebody else dump their issues on you. You’re a blood-bought child of God! Don’t allow them to make you feel worthless or useless because they don’t know how to treat you right, or love you as you deserve to be loved. Don’t spend your life trying to win their acceptance or approval. You’ve already been accepted and approved by God, so make sure your validation and sense of worth come from Him. You’re redeemed by Christ’s blood, covered by Christ’s blood, and accepted through Christ’s blood. And since His blood is ‘precious’, that makes you precious too! Satan, who’s called ‘the accuser’, would like you to forget that and see yourself only in the light of your flaws and failures. Instead, get up every morning, look in the mirror, and announce, ‘I am precious, because I have been redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus!’
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for redeeming me and deeming me precious in Your Sight. Let me live remembering this in all I do and think. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
