HIGH SCHOOL

JUNIORS!!! Would you be interested in knowing more about a ministry academy to be launched in the fall of 2017?  Find out how you can delve deeper in your faith and be challenged to grow as a Christian leader — perhaps even for the purpose of pursuing church work!  MEETING FRIDAY at 11:45 a.m. in room 119.  See Mr. Grepke if you cannot attend.

ARE YOU SAD that you missed last week's deep discussion on why nothing makes sense in the world without the Christian worldview? Well, last week's forum was so robust, we had to suspend it for another day.  That day is THURSDAY at 11:45 a.m. in room 119.  Join us for a discussion revolving mostly around pre-suppositional apologetics!  Last week we had 26 students, so arrive early and get a good seat!

Attention all High School Boys who are wanting to play high school soccer this coming fall. There will be a short interest meeting on Thursday, June 1st at 11:15 am in the Rec Sports room off of the Arena.

JV and Varsity softball and JV boy’s lacrosse - if you ordered team photos please stop by Mrs. Fox's office in the gym lobby to pick them up.

PROM PHOTOS ARE IN! Please pick them up in the front office. If you are having cap & gown photos done with Jody Rael, you can pick them up with her.

If you are out of dress code, you will not be able to take Finals until you are in the correct dress code.

TIME TO CHECK CAFETERIA ACCOUNT BALANCES
Please check your Cafeteria Account Balance................  Your account MUST have a positive balance in order to make ANY purchases during Finals.  Any negative cafeteria account balances at the end of the year will be transferred to your Tuition account and will be processed through SMART Tuition in June and July.

Varsity Girls Lacrosse -please stop by Mrs. Fox's office in the Arena lobby to pick up your varsity letters for the season.

Come to room 222 before school, after school, or at lunch to pick up your yearbook from Mrs. Elliott. You've already paid for one, so don't delay!

Seniors and your laptops!
ALL senior laptops must be re-imaged. If you do not have your laptop checked and re-imaged by our IT department, you will not receive your diploma! You must have this final re-image done, even if you had the laptop re-imaged recently!
We are thrilled to offer those seniors that have been here at Faith for the full 4 years, the ability to keep your laptop at no charge. We will need to wipe and re-image your laptop (all your information will be gone). We HIGHLY recommend making a backup (using Time Machine or just copy the files important to you). If you do not do that or need help on how to do that, please come to the library and visit the tech support room. If you bring your external drive with you, we will be glad to teach you how to get your data saved from the laptop, but we will NOT backup your data.
Also, if you do not want your laptop, consider leaving it with us. We take your old laptop, refurbish it, and donate it to less fortunate schools, churches, shut-ins, elderly, and other organizations. It is a way to bless others. Just let us know at check-in what you would like to do. Last year we had students donate their laptops to help underprivileged and charities! How cool is that?
As a senior, can I get my laptop if I have not been here the full 4 years?
Possibly, you might be able to. It will depend on the model and year you got the laptop. It will be decided on a case by case basis. The minimal cost is $200 if you want to keep your laptop (there can be additional charges for different models and age). Your laptop will need to be re-imaged. If you return the laptop damaged or missing charger, you will be charged for those repairs.
This offer to purchase your laptop will not be offered to any other grade. This is a way we can bless the seniors.
Q: When you re-image my laptop, will all my photos and files be lost?
A: Yes, if you did not back it up. Unfortunately, we cannot back up the files for you.
Q: When can I get it re-imaged?
A: As soon as you do not need the laptop for classes, please bring it in to re-image.
Once re-imaged, it cannot be on our school network anymore.
AGAIN! ALL senior laptops must be checked and re-imaged.
If you do not have your laptop checked and re-imaged, by our IT department, you will not receive your diploma and transcripts will be on hold.

DEVOTIONAL
When Words Fail
READ
The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words (v.26).
Helen Keller lost her ability to hear and see at only nineteen months old. Eventually, her teacher Anne Sullivan helped young Helen learn to read Braille and raised type. By age nine she could also read people’s lips with her fingers and speak. Sullivan attempted to help Helen understand the word love. The teacher made several attempts to explain the concept, which only puzzled her pupil. Then one day Sullivan said that love was like sunshine—sweetness that pours into everything. That’s when Helen Keller first understood the word love.
Even for those of us who can see and hear, there are experiences in life we struggle to comprehend. Some of them and the emotions that come with them are buried so deeply in our consciousness that we’re scarcely aware of their existence, let alone able to describe them clearly. How then can we bring these hidden and often painful struggles to God?
Scripture gives us comfort in this struggle, reminding us that our prayers aren’t dependent on our ability to communicate clearly to God. Instead, we have the Holy Spirit with us in prayer. And the Spirit doesn’t simply listen to our prayers but actively “prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words” (Romans 8:26). Similarly, inJohn 14 Jesus says that in the Holy Spirit we find a Helper who is our advocate to the Father (v.26).
Perhaps like me you often try to rely on your own abilities to pray effectively. We may try our best to pray well, which isn’t wrong in itself, but find our words woefully inadequate. But we can take great comfort in the realization that when our words fail and our strength falls short, the Holy Spirit searches our hearts and intercedes on our behalf (Romans 8:27). —Peter Chin

Read Psalm 139 for a beautiful description of the extent to which God knows us and searches our hearts.

Do you often find yourself praying in your own strength? How can you become more aware of the help and presence of the Holy Spirit in prayer?
