HS Athletic Meeting: There will be a brief HS Athletic Meeting for all non-football athletes on May 23rd at 2:55 pm in the Arena.  If you are playing a sport next school year your attendance is mandatory.

Seniors and your laptops!
ALL senior laptops must be re-imaged. If you do not have your laptop checked and re-imaged by our IT department, you will not receive your diploma! You must have this final re-image done, even if you had the laptop re-imaged recently!
We are thrilled to offer those seniors that have been here at Faith for the full 4 years, the ability to keep your laptop at no charge. We will need to wipe and re-image your laptop (all your information will be gone). We HIGHLY recommend making a backup (using Time Machine or just copy the files important to you). If you do not do that or need help on how to do that, please come to the library and visit the tech support room. If you bring your external drive with you, we will be glad to teach you how to get your data saved from the laptop, but we will NOT backup your data.
Also, if you do not want your laptop, consider leaving it with us. We take your old laptop, refurbish it, and donate it to less fortunate schools, churches, shut-ins, elderly, and other organizations. It is a way to bless others. Just let us know at check-in what you would like to do. Last year we had students donate their laptops to help underprivileged and charities! How cool is that?
As a senior, can I get my laptop if I have not been here the full 4 years?
Possibly, you might be able to. It will depend on the model and year you got the laptop. It will be decided on a case by case basis. The minimal cost is $200 if you want to keep your laptop (there can be additional charges for different models and age). Your laptop will need to be re-imaged. If you return the laptop damaged or missing charger, you will be charged for those repairs.
This offer to purchase your laptop will not be offered to any other grade. This is a way we can bless the seniors.
Q: When you re-image my laptop, will all my photos and files be lost?
A: Yes, if you did not back it up. Unfortunately, we cannot back up the files for you.
Q: When can I get it re-imaged?
A: As soon as you do not need the laptop for classes, please bring it in to re-image.
Once re-imaged, it cannot be on our school network anymore.
AGAIN! ALL senior laptops must be checked and re-imaged.
If you do not have your laptop checked and re-imaged, by our IT department, you will not receive your diploma and transcripts will be on hold.

Check your Community Crusade Service hours. They are due by May 15th.  IF you do not get them turned in you will not get your schedule for next year.  Seniors, if you do not get them completed we will not send your transcripts.  You need a minimum of 20 hours.  10 hours if you started school at Semester or later.

DEVOTIONAL
The Holy Other
READ
Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground (v.5).
Each Sunday my local church begins our service with a call to worship—a song declaring that we gather to proclaim God’s goodness and beauty. As we sing, we’re also affirming that we live as citizens of His kingdom. Although during most of the worship we encourage people to choose their own posture, in this opening song we always ask our people to stand. We want to open the service conscious of standing in God’s presence, reverently honoring the One who’s other than us.
Moses had a similar experience of awareness that he was in the presence of God. After fleeing Egypt, Moses had been tending his father-in-law’s flocks in the Midian desert for decades. On one occasion, Scripture reveals that Moses “led the flock far into the wilderness.” He was also far from his home, people, and from where he would have expected to be at this stage in his life (Exodus 3:1). God, however, was not far away—He was very near.
Alone, Moses glimpsed a flash of fire and turned to see a “bush . . . engulfed in flames,” only the flaming bush “didn’t burn up” (v.2). As Moses drew close, “God called to him from the middle of the bush.” Likely with a voice that was quavering, Moses said, “Here I am!” (v.4).
“‘Do not come any closer,’ the Lord warned. ‘Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground. I am the God of . . . Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.”  Struck with awe, Moses “covered his face because he was afraid to look at God” (vv.5-6).
Of courseMoses was afraid! If we were to stand before God Almighty and not quiver, something would be wrong. God is love, but there should be moments in our life where our encounter with Him—the holy One who is other—leaves us trembling and in awe. —Winn Collier

How have you been tempted to discount the otherness, or holiness, of God? Where and when have you encountered God as the “Holy Other”?
