HIGH SCHOOL

Seniors and your laptops!
ALL senior laptops must be re-imaged. If you do not have your laptop checked and re-imaged by our IT department, you will not receive your diploma! You must have this final re-image done, even if you had the laptop re-imaged recently!
We are thrilled to offer those seniors that have been here at Faith for the full 4 years, the ability to keep your laptop at no charge. We will need to wipe and re-image your laptop (all your information will be gone). We HIGHLY recommend making a backup (using Time Machine or just copy the files important to you). If you do not do that or need help on how to do that, please come to the library and visit the tech support room. If you bring your external drive with you, we will be glad to teach you how to get your data saved from the laptop, but we will NOT backup your data.
Also, if you do not want your laptop, consider leaving it with us. We take your old laptop, refurbish it, and donate it to less fortunate schools, churches, shut-ins, elderly, and other organizations. It is a way to bless others. Just let us know at check-in what you would like to do. Last year we had students donate their laptops to help underprivileged and charities! How cool is that?
As a senior, can I get my laptop if I have not been here the full 4 years?
Possibly, you might be able to. It will depend on the model and year you got the laptop. It will be decided on a case by case basis. The minimal cost is $200 if you want to keep your laptop (there can be additional charges for different models and age). Your laptop will need to be re-imaged. If you return the laptop damaged or missing charger, you will be charged for those repairs.
This offer to purchase your laptop will not be offered to any other grade. This is a way we can bless the seniors.
Q: When you re-image my laptop, will all my photos and files be lost?
A: Yes, if you did not back it up. Unfortunately, we cannot back up the files for you.
Q: When can I get it re-imaged?
A: As soon as you do not need the laptop for classes, please bring it in to re-image.
Once re-imaged, it cannot be on our school network anymore.
AGAIN! ALL senior laptops must be checked and re-imaged.
If you do not have your laptop checked and re-imaged, by our IT department, you will not receive your diploma and transcripts will be on hold.

Attention AP Students:
If you are taking Alternate AP Exams next week, please check in with Mrs. Washington for the date and times by Thursday May 11th.

Check your Community Crusade Service hours. They are due by May 15th.  IF you do not get them turned in you will not get your schedule for next year.  Seniors, if you do not get them completed we will not send your transcripts.  You need a minimum of 20 hours.  10 hours if you started school at Semester or later.

DEVOTIONAL
Foreigners and Nomads
READ
These people died still believing what God had promised them. They did not receive what was promised, but they . . . agreed that they were foreigners and nomads here on earth (v.13).
Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, I maintained Nigerian citizenship because of my parents’ diplomatic status. I once met a lady from Indonesia who excitedly launched into her native tongue after learning my birthplace. Embarrassed, I informed her that I was only there briefly and had no knowledge of the language. I was born in the country—but am not of it.
Likewise, the Bible refers to believers as foreigners and nomads on the earth—not of it (Hebrews 11:13). Our identity isn’t created by the secular world; we live out God’s heavenly perspective. The heroes of faith profiled in Hebrews 11were described as “looking forward to a country they [could] call their own” (v.14). This didn’t mean their birthplace or place of origin, “but they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them” (v.16).
It’s for this reason that Jesus urged His followers to store up treasures in heaven, rather than on earth, for our hearts tend to be centered wherever we have our treasure (Matthew 6:19-21). He went on to describe those who hoard material things in this life as fools who don’t have “a rich relationship with God” (Luke 12:16-21).
Whenever I take a trip for work I focus on the tasks that need to be accomplished, but never lose sight of the fact that my home awaits me. This prompts me to be efficient with my time, so as not to delay or jeopardize my trip back there.
In the same way, we must strive to accomplish the earthly purpose for which we’ve been created in God’s power and leading. He’s the One who will one day renew the earth—uniting it with all that is heaven (Revelation 21:1).  —Remi Oyedele

How often do you think about your final destination after this life? What does it mean for you to store up treasures in heaven?
