A Message from the Director
As best I can determine, enrollment at Faith Lutheran Jr/Sr High School has increased for 18 consecutive years. That remarkable run continues this year as we opened our doors to over 1300 students in grades 6-12. Our growth has survived a brutal local economy and is a strong testimony to the quality of our programs and the passion our parents and students have for Faith. We rejoice in the blessings God continues to shower on our school.
Last year the NIAA recognized Faith with its Award of Excellence, for the best combination of academics, athletics and citizenship among 3A school. Our ACT scores, already above the national average, matched the highest score of the last seven years. SAT scores improved for the tenth time in eleven years. Our middle school ITBS scores place Faith in the top 15% of schools nationwide.
We have a remarkable year ahead of us. We are now members of the Northwest division of the Sunset conference at the 4A level. Every freshman now uses an Apple Macbook as an integral part of the learning process. Every play, chapel and concert will take place in the new chapel/performing arts center, now recognized as one of the valley’s finest performance venues.
Opportunities for students to grow outside the classroom abound. Information about music, drama, athletics, publications, honor societies and clubs can be found on our website, but it’s safe to say that if you are looking for something to do, Faith has an activity that will interest you.
This year we operate under the theme “The truth will set you free,” taken from John 8:31-32. In a world where truth seems an increasingly elusive concept, we continue to believe that Jesus Christ is the only path to salvation. We remain committed to providing an excellent Christ-centered education to all who come to Faith. That education is rooted in the truths in Scripture, but also committed to preparing students to live in a world that is increasingly complex, technological and secular.
Is Faith the right place for your student? Please join us for one of our open houses or call the school to arrange a tour. Your student is welcome to spend the day with us to get a taste of what life is like at the school. Julie Buuck, our admissions counselor, will personally guide you through the process of joining our school family.
Choosing a school for their children is one of the most important decisions a parent will make. I hope you will see that our commitment to Christian values, our dedication to academic excellence, and our desire to help your students become well-rounded citizens make Faith Lutheran a great choice.
In His Service,
Kevin Dunning
