Honor Societies
National Honor Society
Faculty Advisor - Mr. Mueller
National Honor Society's Execetive Officers meet once a month and the general members meet once a month.
Grades Eligible - 10 -12
This is a national organization whose members are chosen by a faculty committee from the best academic students in the school. They perform service to the school, community, and church and learn leadership skills. They are highly motivated and dedicated to the national goals, and along the way they have a good deal of fun. Membership in this organization can be of benefit when seeking admission to colleges, and demonstrates that these are future leaders of our nation.
International Thespian Society
This High School Honor Society for Theatrical Arts is open to all 10-12 grade High School students who participate in drama productions at Faith. Students become members by collecting points throughout the school year by participating in various performance related opportunities.
The I.T.S. participates in community service, yearly field trips to see professional theatrical productions and attend workshops, participate in theatre games and offers the school an annual “Singing Telegrams” fundraiser for Valentine's Day. There are officer positions available and the Honor Society holds meeting twice a month in Mr. Ball's room.
I.T.S. Members have the opportunity to audition for scholarships for college and attend workshops and state and nation wide conferences. All I.T.S. members are recognized at graduation with an honors medal.

National Junior Honor Society
Faculty Advisor - Mrs. Grant
National Junior Honor Society meets at least once a month and may meet more depending on current activities.
Grades Eligible - 8 - 9
NJHS consists of students in 8th and 9th grade with a 3.5 GPA or better who are chosen by a faculty committee. Students must perform 10 hours of service per semester. These hours can be obtained on their own or by participating in NJHS activities. Activities are designed to promote service to the school or community. They include fundraisers (ie. The Cancer Society), walk-a-thons (ie. breast cancer), food drives, or other collections (ie. Operation Christmas Child).

Student Council
Student Body officers and class officers for grades 7 - 12 are elected each April. Sixth grade class officers are elected in the fall. The Student council meets as an elective class for grades 7-12 and the 6th grade representatives attend once each month.

MS Student Council

Middle School students meet during non-class times.
Grades Eligible - 6th - 8th
The MS Student Council is designed for the members of the Executive Board, Executive Council, and the Executive Cabinet. Together they will carry out the duties assigned to them in the school constitution. The members of this class will be responsible for planning: homecoming, asseblies, dances, monthly activites, and assist the high school student council when needed. Each member of the class will work to maintain positive school spirit within the student body throughout the year.

Junior State of America (J.S.A.)
Faculty Advisor - Mr. Laufer
Grades Eligible - 9th - 12th
J.S.A. will meet twice a month throughout the year.
J.S.A. is a non-partisan political awareness club where students have the opportunity to participate in a number of activities centered on education of American politics from formal congressional debates to enlightening thought talks to quest speaker sessions. Students also have the opportunity to attend local conventions and summer schools at certain prestigious college campuses around the country. The purpose of J.S.A. is "To Make Democracy Work" through educating students to be voters, statesmen, loyal citizens and politically aware people.
Membership fee is $3.00.

Future City Competition
Faculty Advisor - Mr Holmes
Students will meet once a week beginning the end of September. The program concludes the end of January.
Grades Eligible - 7th & 8th
Seventh and eight grade students will have the opportunity to work in groups of three to create their own cities using the popular Sim City software. In addition, they will construct portions of their cities to scale, write essays connected to their cities, and speak before judges about their cities in a citywide competition.

Crusader Computer Club
The club is broken into SIGs (Special Interest Groups).
The Apple Computer Club helps the users of Macintosh computers with the different applications and tools used to enhance the many uses of the Mac.
The Robotics Club is an environment in which students can explore and test their ideas as they create different robotic projects.
Crusader Cinema Productions is exploring the areas of Claymation and comic strip design.
The different SIGs meet on a formal bases once a month. The students are then welcome to work on the different areas before or after school. See

Community Service Clubs
Key Club
Faculty Advisor - Mrs. Vergina
Students will meet once a week on Thursdays. The executive officers also meet every Tuesday.
Grades Eligible - 9th - 12th
Key Club is a service organization affiliated with Kiwanis Club International. Students are involved in a variety of service projects throughout the year. Meetings are held during HS lunch to allow all students the opportunity to participate in this international organization.
Builder's Club
Faculty Advisor - Mrs. Worl
Grades Eligible - 7th & 8th
Builders Club is the Middle School component of Key Club. Both are service clubs that help their school, church and community. Builders Club meets every Tuesday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. except on minimum days. Last semester Builders Club members logged 878.5 hours performing community service such as collecting 300+ canned goods for the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, 220+cell phones and pagers for HELP of So. Nevada, making up Christmas stockings for homeless teens, and of course participating in Faith's community service event each December.

Peer Ministry
Faculty Advisor - Mrs. Nelson
Students will meet once or twice a week.
Grades Eligible - 9th - 12th (Nomination and application)
The Peer Ministry group is designed to help develop leadership and ministry within Faith Lutheran's student body. This group of students is trained in basic helping skills and sharing their faith with their peers. They lead an after school Bible study called 180 once a week. They also lead chapel from time to time. The basic goal is to share God's love and witness to those who do not yet
know Him.

Mock Trial
Faculty Advisor - Mrs. McAllister
Students will meet once a week or twice a week till Competition. Meetings are held from October thru February.
Grades Eligible - 9th - 12th
Mock Trial lets students participate in the legal process as both attorneys and witnesses. Students learn about the basics of law from attorney-coaches and compete against other high schools at local, district and state levels. This extra-curricular activity teaches students to think on their feet, to speak clearly and logically and to work as a team.

MS Golf
Advisor - Mark Cheney
Faith participates in 3-5 middle school golf tournaments during the spring. Due to the limited number of spots in each tournament, tryouts will be held to determine who will play. Both boys and girls are eligible to participate in this activity. Students must have previous experience and knowledge of the etiquette and rules of golf.
Meeting: once a week for 3-6 weeks in the spring.

Art Club
Advisor - June Uhlig
ART CLUB Meets every Gold Wednesday. All students are welcome to attend. 3:00 – 4:00 in room 148. Each meeting, students will be do a project using various mediums like pastel, paint, pencil, clay, photography etc. Students get the opportunity to spend some after school time learning new art forms and producing artwork that reflects their personality.

Journalism Club

MS Journalism Club
Middle School Journalism Club allows students in 6-8th grades the opportunity to learn the basics of journalism, writing, and publishing. Students meet weekly to collaborate their efforts in writing, photographing, and designing the middle school publication, the MS Crusader. The club offers students the opportunity to experience staff membership, even if they are unable to fit the class into their schedules. Middle school journalism club meets on Thursdays, on a nearly weekly basis, from 3:15-4 p.m. in room 166.
Grades Eligible - 6th - 8th
HS Journalism Club
High School Journalism Club allows students in 9-12th grades the opportunity to learn the basics of journalism, writing, and publishing. Students meet weekly to collaborate their efforts in writing, photographing, and designing the high school publication, The Crusader Chronicle, an award-winning publication. The club offers students the opportunity to experience staff membership, even if they are unable to fit the class into their schedules. Also, students can compete in the CLASS! Magazine and Review-Journal awards held in April and May for recognition in fine journalism writing and technique. High School Journalism Club meets on Thursday, on a nearly weekly basis, from 3:15-4:15 p.m. in
room 166.
Grades Eligible - 9th -12th
In Journalism Club, students will work together in writing, photography, and drawing to develop ideas and to learn computer programs and techniques.
Requirements:
- An interest in newspapers, writing, editing, photography, or cartooning.
- The ability to work with others.
- Responsibility using computers, digital cameras, scanners
and printers.

Rock Climbing Club
Advisor - Jose Diaz
The activity is open to all students.
Students are taught how to climb and belay safely, for indoor and outdoor climbing. Students encourage one another to solve bouldering problems and improve on route climbing techniques.
It is a great sport to keep students in shape and challenge them without the pressure of a competitive atmosphere.
Meeting: meets once or twice a week at the Red Rock Climbing Center, with occasional Rock Climbing trips to Red Rock or Mt. Charleston.

Video Production Club
Advisor - Jose Diaz
Students meet weekly to collaborate in their efforts to create and produce video productions ranging from short films and music videos to video promos.
Students are taught filming and editing techniques, and get the hands on experience on video productions. The club offers students the opportunity to be creative, imaginative, and work with others.
Meeting: meets once a week and is open to all students.
